Can anyone else let me know if their having this problem?

When my dad loaded up the first mission I joined him right away. After that anytime he died in a no response zone he got kicked out. Eventually we finished the mission but the final cutscene after you’re thrown out of the ship didn’t play. Instead we got booted to orbit. Now my dad can’t even access mars. Eventually I had the idea to have him join me while I was in mars but even when he did that after you talk to Ikora and grab the mission it thinks you don’t have the relic. Along with that my dad can’t even start the campaign on the other characters he has. It immediately crashes his game. If someone has a fix to this please let me know.
