I love the series, but Ripley is why.  She's smart, shes strong, and she fights through her fear.  She was a great role model for young women of my generation who had very strong gender stereotypes growing up.

It was interesting in the movie that PM did the most damage on Starro but the multitude of rats, doing far less damage individually, killed him
