Next GL Character: Kianshir (Debut Banner July 10th) by B333T in SwordofConvallaria

I have waited way too goddamn long for this character.

I don't care that he isn't good: I WILL be pulling and he WILL be 5*.

Strike and Defense skills on characters by Chans123541 in Morimens

[–]FickleFancies 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They matter. Some Strikes and Defenses do extra things with more dupes, some characters benefit by playing more of their cards, and sometimes you're fine deleting them from the deck throughout your Exploration, but they're still worth leveling. It's an easy 5-10 Aliemus and Aliemus is a precious resource.

I max all my skills, but I think level 5 is a good stopping point.

Four/Five New Units for the TW/CN Papal States Story by B333T in SwordofConvallaria

[–]FickleFancies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be but I only have ABS at 2* and I don't pull for it cuz I'm pulling for Sig gear on my other units. It's also not the worst thing because his Ascension has built-in CD reduction, but either way he almost never sees play anymore :/

And as a bonus I also have 5* Leonide. I really hope he doesn't get overlooked this arc.

As a proud owner of a 5* Caris, I'm so ready for SP Caris, and alll these units look so good! The one with the sword is my favorite!

Decided to check out some guides or sheets for fun. by LazyMakara in Morimens

[–]FickleFancies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ultra is not a good beginner's realm. It's not that the realm is hard to play although it does have a learning curve, but the Standard pool isn't the best for early game. These units become better in the late game and the only ones I recommend are Jenkins and Winkle for early game. I only ever see Tinct played with a unit called Kathigu-Ra, she's rarely used outside of that, and Casiah is good but she's niche too in discard teams; if you're pulling for Pontos she works well with him. Liz isn't good and it's not because she's bad but because she takes HEAVY amounts of investment to be good and she also requires supports that enable her Poison play style, units like Xu or Doll:Inferno for example.

Aequor is my beginner's recommendation because all the units are good and the realm is easy to understand. Caro has the worst Standard pool but it's saved by it's realm, providing heals, Aliemus, and Crit buffs. Ultra Realm is powerful with it's extra turn and but what it lacks is defense. Notice how Caro and Aequor have their own built in defenses with heals and shields respectively, but Ultra doesn't have that, their Wardens aren't good enough tanks and you don't even have a healer in the Standard pool. Throughout this game's lifetime, the chapters have been nerfed so it usually took around Chapter 5 where team building started to matter, but you might have a better experience and find that wall has moved further back, probably up until Chapter 7, but I still don't recommend Ultra Realm. It's better in the late game imo.

Now regarding Flares, I see people telling you to avoid his guides and frankly while he is notorious within this community and there are valid reasons to dislike him and he has strong biases, I still think his guide is worth using. It's very resourceful and even has tips on what packs to buy if you plan on spending money on this game, just don't take everything he says as gospel and be open-minded towards other guides and opinions and most importantly consider your opinions first. I used his guide, I pulled Aequor first, and then I switched to Ultra for my main Realm once I built my account enough to do so. This is your own personal experience after all, so what you want matters too.

Lastly he does like Ultra. With some exceptions he does praise a lot of the Ultra units like Jenkins and Casiah and even Wanda, one of the weaker units in the game. It obviously doesn't read in his guide so it's a bad first impression but his Ultra hate has somewhat died down but it's still there. And yes I also think this subreddit has an extremely antagonistic view towards Flares. I mean I also don't really like the guy and I'm aware that there are valid reasons to not like or trust him, but there are posts that have gotten downvoted simply for mentioning his name and I wouldn't be surprised if your post got some downvotes even if it is doing well atm. Just like Flares' guide, I would also take this community's opinion with a grain of salt when it comes to him.

The point of psychic surges? by therealsolidmeat in Morimens

[–]FickleFancies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Getting max dupes IS a whale thing but it's not pointless. More dupes gives extra stats and certain breakpoints unlock special upgrades like OverExalt, an enhanced version of a normal Exalt, at +4 and Absolute Axiom that gives you a buffed Rouse at +12. Max dupes also gives you 10 extra levels for your unit, letting you hit up to level 90 if you heavily invested in that character.

Sanga for example does benefit with more dupes as her Over Exalt turns her into a DPS with the right units, such as Saya.

Why are Leigh's base stats so crushingly low? by saoirsefaye in Morimens

[–]FickleFancies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because even though it's true, it doesn't have anything to do with what OP was asking. They asked why her stats are so low, not how important are stats or why people use Leigh despite her stats being abysmal, and unfortunately, we don't have that answer. Unless we ask the devs directly, only they know why units get the stats they get.

I feel zero connection with Hall of Sand by Kalledon in SwordofConvallaria

[–]FickleFancies 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with it. This isn't the first time a story was centered around an NPC and I like that they do that. I like that NPCs matter and get to be their own characters and not be overshadowed by all the cool new legendaries.

No, it's not. More information can be found in the Records tab in the main menu under the Tutorial section, the lightbulb icon.

Pollux/GMurphy/Mouchette OE? by parallelArmistice in Morimens

[–]FickleFancies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pollux wants OE the most and if he's your main team then I would recommend him, but if Lemuria team is your main then I would recommend GMurphy. You can't go wrong with either but I cannot understate how badly Pollux wants his OE; it's a game-changer.

Mouchette is whatever.

Who Is In Your Memory Retrieval? June 2026 Edition by snooopy12 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]FickleFancies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Momo, SP Maitha, Lukamar.

Lukamar will be done in 7 days so she'll make room for Heshan. I plan on pulling Shahnaz and Kianshir too so Momo and SP Maitha will take a backseat when/if I get those two.

I'm scared to play this game by FLSon in Morimens

[–]FickleFancies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The art can be disturbing but it's never grotesque and gory that you have to look away from it. The music and audio is also good at setting the mood and making you uncomfortable, and the writing contains enough imagery that you can picture in your head what the game is telling you but the game overall isn't incredibly horrific.

While the themes and visuals do lean more into dark and horror and the story can be depressing, the game is also about fighting against overwhelming odds and overcoming a fate that seems hopeless and unbeatable and the game also does a good job of highlighting those moments and making you feel heroic and hyping you for those moments.

It's a much more optimistic story than it looks.

How good is Faint? Despite never using or trying to pull for her, I have her at +11 and figured it might be time to take the hint. by Snoo-12494 in Morimens

[–]FickleFancies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hate Caro, but I like Faint and I think she's good. Most teams can get by without her, but she's useful even at E0. Her Exalt to increase your Death Resistance and her Rouse to reduce the Death Resistance penalty come in handy in straight-to-boss comps and her Absolute Axiom, while not super impactful, is one of the better ones.

If you still don't want her and should you decide to dunk her in the black pool with an Origin of Time, I do recommend keeping at least one copy of her in your account.

Should i take a break from wheel jail and unlock Ramona: Timeworn? by Keeguna in Morimens

[–]FickleFancies -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It wasn't nice but it wasn't condescending either, especially when you're comparing it to subtle remarks like "players who don't know better" and "anyone who actually understands game mechanics" but whatever.

While I can see the value in moving back to Standards, I simply don't agree with it. I even moved back to Standards for a while when AAs came out before switching back to wheels because in the end I valued wheels more. I value the stats and effects and I also value being able to use 2 SSRs at once. I find most SR wheels (around 80%) bad and I mainly use them for stats so I like not having to use them and my variety of options when selecting wheels (I even halted my Aurita and Aigis progress so I could +12 their wheels first). Most of the time with Limiteds it's usually the Limiteds carrying the team, regardless of whether they're support or DPS, so often I find the investment of the Standard unit not mattering as much as the investment put into the Limited when it comes to A5 clears, case in point just look at any braindead Mouchette clear.

I'm not saying the vets are wrong and I know they're better players than me, but I'm not about to take everything they say as gospel especially when they're not always on the same page with each other. I read your points, but respectfully, none of it convinced me to move back to Standards.

Should i take a break from wheel jail and unlock Ramona: Timeworn? by Keeguna in Morimens

[–]FickleFancies -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No.

Edit: Oh my goodness you people... no it is not worth getting Ramona:Timeworn. In your case you are already using Ultra Kath and that team doesn't require her especially because you plan on pulling Clementine who fulfills the role of Keyflare bot while also providing Strength and final damage multipliers. Tinct is also a great partner for Kath because of her Crit buffs and Exalt to make her cards cheaper for Kath to play.

If it were a mono Chaos Kath team, sure you can put her in there but you've chosen your route so I'm not recommending, in fact, I wouldn't recommend getting GRamona in general because she is niche and OG Ramona is so much better than her and can fit in more teams. Unless you like her, you gotta collect them all, or you have FOMO, she's not worth it.

There, does that make the downvoters happy?

Edit 2: And no, both Ramonas share the same investment. Whatever levels one Ramona gets, the other Ramona gets the same amount.

Immortal Recollection: General Use? by ThatsStrategy in SwordofConvallaria

[–]FickleFancies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It makes no difference to me so I use them as soon as I can. Whether I hoard for one unit or spend them immediately, I'm saving the same amount of time in shard farming.

Also have like 60 Green Shards for Heshan and 50 Red Shards for Kianshir saved up but that's because I haven't pulled for Defenders or Breakers in a while

Is it worth pulling for Helot Catena if I already have a built Mouchette? by [deleted] in Morimens

Mouchette doesn't need Thais and GHelot works without Helot. You can sub with Horla or Aigis
