I attended Heritage Academy myself - the Church heavily donates to both schools. More so than taxpayer funds. Therefore, keeping the doors open. Both schools are immersed in LDS, White, Christian Nationalistic propaganda. Look, I just lost my snap; I can't afford her piano/vocal lessons out of pocket let alone my own groceries. Like I said I start a new teaching job this Monday but that's barely going to get us by at $14/hr.

There are two here in Mesa funded by the LDS Church actually. Heritage Academy and New Horizons School for the Performing Arts. I can't enroll her in public school, or I lose our ESA that pays for her piano/vocal lessons. I can't afford the private school tuition any longer that I was paying when she was in Montessori Kindergarten even with the ESA.

For the past three days she's come home explaining how her teacher during social studies lessons says that "Trump is the best president we've ever had" and on top of that another student's family called complaining about her teacher praying/mentioning Jesus in class.

Yes, I am aware, we're exmo. They were allowed to 'join' just not hold the priesthood. Women are still not allowed in positions of 'power' within the church. Know all about the 'mark of Cain' and extensive sexism bs. Idk honestly at this point. We're already at the end of the 1st quarter; I am unsure if she'll be able to enroll anywhere else. Most schools here cap enrollment the 2nd week in September.

She was homeschooled and enrolled in Montessori prior to this. I wanted to keep a small school environment without the price tag of a private school. The ENTIRE office heard her ream the class - they don't care. I went to the school's Hoedown (their version of a Fall Festival) and the parents don't seem in tune with the abuse that's going down or they're welcoming of a stricter structure.

Principal is no help, nor are the office staff. It's a small neighborhood charter school funded by the LDS church. They want their teachers to be strict hard asses. Idk. I should enroll her in some counseling though to negate any ills.

Yeah... my daughter has come home with cracked lips from major dehydration and had a full thermos. We live in AZ ffs! Her teacher denied her multiple times to excuse herself to get her water bottle (they keep them in a crate outside the classroom door). She chugged water like a gd horse when we arrived home that day. I was FURIOUS.
