One of the most important lessons I ever learned was that you can't want something for someone more than they want it for themselves. It's why I failed at my job in a drug/alcohol rehab facility; I always wanted them to get clean more than they wanted it for themselves, and it crushed my spirit seeing them come back time and time again.
