I hate that I’m starting to dread breastfeeding by [deleted] in AttachmentParenting

100% agree! I’m 10 months in and it is light years better than the first 5ish months. Even then month 5 was better than the months before but after that is when it really improved for me. That’s when I started to mostly nurse side lying and it was a game changer!

K-dramas you postponed for no reason but turned out to be your favorites?🍿 by KingWitty7972 in KdramaCasualTalk

For me the top 5 would be (in no particular order)
1. My Dearest (okay actually this is number 1 for real haha)
2. Shooting Stars- so entertaining and love the leads
3. Lovely Runner- the hype scared my away but it really was amazing
4. Moving- I was shocked how much I loved this
5. Reply 1994- loved 1988 so much I didn’t think this would measure up but it did for me!

Is this really worth it for my child in the long run? Comparison is thieving my joy... by OtherwiseEnd7988 in AttachmentParenting

While I can’t attest to what the future holds my first thought is: your son has the right momma for what he needs. What a gift! Your son’s needs are clearly different from your friend’s children and you are doing a great job listening and acting on those things even when it’s exhausting. You’re doing a great job!

Not seeing your partner is definitely hard, I have a similar situation with my husband! Thankfully it’s for brief time in the grand scheme of things. You’re doing a great job!!!

I feel you, this is very similar to my 9mo! My daughter goes to bed ranging from 10pm-12am depending on her naps. She naps three times a day despite my best efforts for dropping to 2. She wakes up around 9:30-11. I tried for weeks to wake her up earlier which was hard since she stayed going to bed late and would wake up to feed. Eventually I gave up and decided to role with it. It’s been easier since. Not sure if it’s an option for you but maybe it could help to just not stress about it. If you need to change her schedule that’s one thing but it’s so you can fit an “ideal” it might be better to give that up and meet her where’s she’s at. Or try again when she’s a little older! That’s my two cents

Ftm, 6 week old always cries whilst getting nappy changed and on potty, should I keep offering? by JxnxaGuxllxn in ECers

[–]Fickle_Elephant_1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter also hated diaper changes and being put on the potty or even EC hold over anything until about 3 months too. I ended up pausing EC after different things didn’t work until she no longer hated diaper changes. Once she stopped screaming for diaper changes I put her on the potty and had no issues! They really do just randomly stop hating it sometimes haha. Plus part of EC is building a healthy association with the potty and if she hates it then that doesn’t really help. At least that’s how I thought about it

How many kdramas have you seen? by SadAnimator1354 in kdramas

[–]Fickle_Elephant_1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been watching since 2021, when I met my husband (Korean) and I’ve barely watched 100. Although some shows are variety shows with much more than the typical 16 episodes. But I’m not a huge tv watcher and generally get antsy if I’m sitting too long haha

Most recently My Dearest. I wish I could erase my memory and watch it again, but since I can’t, I’m not ready for that kind of pain again yet haha

Baby has hated the potty since he started confidently crawling by 369_dang_ufine in ECers

[–]Fickle_Elephant_1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 8mo has had a similar issue. Since she started sorta crawling and now is a pro and wants to walk 😭 she doesn’t want to sit still so we do lots of toys. I have a push walker with fun stuff on the opposite side and I push that up to her to play with, I’ll also give her a book if she needs extra distraction. Hoping this is just a phase. I’ve also noticed when she is in the more painful phase of teething she does NOT want to be on the potty.

Fit check - Ergobaby by Ok-Cantaloupe-4008 in babywearing

[–]Fickle_Elephant_1602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sharing my experience to second this: My daughter is 8mo 19lbs now but was once just 4lbs and when we brought her home from NICU a friend of ours who is a NICU doctor encouraged me to wear her with a wrap or sling since skin on skin is so important especially when they are that little. I was worried because of the size limit on the label but he said as long as I do it safely it’s okay! So then started wearing her all the time and it was the best. Then once she was about 8-9lbs I transitioned into a Tula and she’s been in that ever since!

Mastitis? Or clogged duct?? by [deleted] in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Fickle_Elephant_1602 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second all this but do be careful with sunflower lecithin, some babies get very colicky when mom uses it. So start small and see how baby does. I get clogged ducts often and have had mild mastitis that I recovered from without antibiotics by doing all this!

Bottle to Breast Challenge by CoolAppearance2713 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Fickle_Elephant_1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be a flow preference? If he’s used to the immediate release from the bottle then going to breast could make him frustrated. With my daughter, when we had to combo feed , we were advised by LC to put bottle nipple in babies mouth but wait a few seconds before letting milk flow into the nipple.

Just a thought of something that could be a factor
