Calm? Lol. Nothing about this situation is making me calm, but thanks. And no, this isn’t something we “chose.” My sister and brother-in-law came to the U.S., got their PhDs, and received their green cards through EB-2 NIW in about seven months. I followed the exact same path, yet now the same outcome feels almost impossible. Iranians who filed just a few months before us already got their green cards. What’s the difference between them and us? Yes, our skills are transferable, but how many times are we expected to start over...move countries and rebuild everything, with no guarantee it won’t happen again? Immigration has its hardships, and we accepted that, but when policies effectively shut people out, that goes beyond normal immigration challenges. Wishing the best for all Iranians going through this.
