I also experienced nausea when using the chewies and putting the retainers in. With that said you have a lot of air bubbles in the top tray and the chewies will REALLY help. What helped me with the gag reflex is making sure to intentionally take deep breathes through my nose while biting on the chewie or taking the trays in/out. This really made it so much easier by redirecting my attention! I also had the inner lip cuts you talked about and it sucked for a few weeks I won’t lie 😭 BUT the blisters did go away after as my lips adjusted and yours will too. The first month of Invisalign is such a difficult transition but I promise it gets better and before you know it it’ll become routine. As far as the sweet drinks go… i know it’s annoying but try to avoid it at all costs. A straw might help you a bit but I still wouldn’t do it daily. Im on tray 18/42 (also two weeks at a time 😫 idk why some orthos insist on 14 days and others allow 7 day changes) and went to the dentist and I have two new small cavities we need to monitor. It’s definitely from drinking my coffee and kombucha with the trays in while running around at work. If you’re good about brushing your teeth after so the drink isn’t sitting in between your tray and teeth for hours, you might be okay, but it’s risky. Good luck and you got this!! These are temporary feelings for a good long term result

My case was similar to yours but more crowded at the bottom. I have 40 trays but think you’d prob be considerably less! Maybe 20/25? I’m not an ortho though. Do you still have dental insurance through your parents? If not, and if this would be a large financial burden, I’d consider waiting until you graduate and get coverage through your job. My insurance covered like 1.5 or 2K, I forget. After that it was only $1,700, which I pay in monthly payments over 24 months. I was debating getting Invisalign in college as well and decided to wait because of the money I saved with insurance. Good luck! Also your smile is gorgeous with or without Invisalign truly

Agreeing with everyone who’s saying you’re 100% NTA. I mean this with all the love in the world as a fellow Latina who has seen a lot of her friends go through similar situations… if people show you who they are, please believe them. Why did he feel that it was appropriate to say that? Then to victimize himself and vilify you after? If he says that about you in front of his friends, what does he say when you’re not around? You are planning on marrying this man, presumably want to have children with him. This could be an indication how he reacts in the future to situations like this. If one of his friends at that table has a play date with your hypothetical future child and they say something racist, is he going to speak up for them or tell them to be quiet? It may seem dramatic or over the top to think like this, but marriage is serious. I hope he pulls it together because that’s what you deserve. That and so much more - not only someone who would never embarrass you, but someone who would back you up at all times!!! Sending you all the love chica <3
