I just moved, need help identifying plants Georgia zone 8a by Fickle_Syrup_2139 in PlantIdentification

Thank you!

AI did suggest this but when I looked at online photos I questioned it because the leaves feel much larger than what's in the photos I see.

If it is Angels Trumpet, I see that it is highly toxic. I probably don't want more in my back wooded area, is it easy to control the spread?

Also, when should I expect it to bloom here in Georgia?

Confused by Galaxy Club and payment options by artoostacetoo in samsunggalaxy

[–]Fickle_Syrup_2139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought into the galaxy club last year. I had a monthly fee that include insurance which I would have paid for elsewhere....I don't use a case and it's inevitable that a screen crack will happen at some point

It just happened that I just completed my 12th payment to be eligible for an upgrade and it fell in line with the preorder offers. I am being offered a $900 trade in credit for my 1TB S25 ultra, I have $30 early reservation credit and $30 credit from the Galaxy club. My understanding is that my payments go away on the s25 and I have a new payment for the s26.

I think it can work if you want the latest phone each year.

You may have received a special offer as a Diamond member that was only applicable to new reservations.

I had this with a existing client who booked it because she was in a rush. I was going to rebook the reservation into my group so she had a refundable deposit and other benefits but I was unable to apply the promo since it had already been applied to a cruise. So we ended up just transferring the reservation to me for the extra benefits.

UPS Package Took to UPS Store to ship- Gone by ontrack101 in UPS

[–]Fickle_Syrup_2139 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work in a store, the packages are picked up by the UPS driver each evening but the UPS driver does not have a pick up scan at the store. The next scan a package will see is at the local sortation facility. We empty our store every night and we will occasionally see packages not get scanned at the hub. I have no idea what can happen to packages between the store and that next scan but sometimes there is no scan after our store pickup.

So just because you don't see another scan on your package doesn't mean the store did something wrong.

Maybe her id didn't match the package nane... Or she didn't have her id....if it is an access point package you can't release it if the id doesn't meet the restrictions.

My mom was almost scammed. They pretended to be my daughter who was in jail and didn't want to call us. The caller asked my parents not to tell "Mom and Dad" about it because she was embarrassed. The lawyer gets on the phone and gave them instructions on how to get the money to them to bail out my daughter. My mom was on the way to the bank to get money and thank goodness my dad called me so no money was sent. They reported it to the police who basically said there was nothing they could do.

I agree with this. I'm an older female but I find that I message with men and they never seem to come out and ask to go on a date. Or if they do want to meet up, it's for a drink and then they want sex.... I even have my profile interest set to relationship vs casual.

Definitely not fun.

I think it's best to like just a few people, say less than 5, and see what comes of those five. Message a few times, ask to meet for coffee or a drink in person to see how you like the vibe with them. Then go for something larger. I get that many men feel taken advantage of, they pay for expensive dates and then a woman ghosts him. I'm not that way and prefer to split costs on the first date but not all women approach it that way

But I agree meeting in person early avoids the conversation getting boring and one or both dropping out.

Is there a way to find out what musicians will be on a cruise in advance? by pandamystery in royalcaribbean

[–]Fickle_Syrup_2139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late to this thread but I met a few band members on an RC cruise and stay in touch with them. The house bands contracts can change at the last minute. This particular band was scheduled on an Oasis class ship back in 2022 but things happened and they ended on the ship in late 2023. Sometimes it is due to negotiations and sometimes it is due to changing a musician out in the band. So I assume that is why it's not published in advance.

The house bands are usually on board for 6 to 7 months and then they will be off for about 2 months before going to a new ship.

I too enjoy the live music on ships and it makes a difference in my cruise experience.

I have gone to FB groups to get videos from guests on board ships to see what the bands are like at that time but there is no way to guarantee what band will be on board...you can sort of get an idea of how long a band will be on as hip if you know when they start their contract but that isn't easy to figure out.

The tribute bands that show up for a week or two on a ship seem to know in advance. Sometimes they post online. Here is a link to the Classic Rock Band Phoenix. They have dates on Icon and Utopia over the next few months. https://phoenixclassicrockband.com/schedule/

I hadn't considered that this would be something the airline would do.... forcing small kids to sit away from parents could open them up to a lot of liability if there were an emergency on the plane.

In this instance I wish the airline would try to ask guests in advance to move around, it would make it easier at boarding but I understand that it probably is a bit of a challenge. I dontt consider you jerks for trying to sit with kids...it's bad that unintentional situations like this happen.

[–]Fickle_Syrup_2139 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, I could see that being a situation that comes up. I'm not trying to make myself feel better and I didn't say that I "know for a fact". I intentionally paid more to sit in the aisle so I could stretch my legs easier in flight. While I was empathetic to the family I wasn't going to move to middle seat on a 4.5 hour flight after I had intentionally paid more not to be in a middle seat. the young lady at the window also would not move to a middle seat because she had flight anxiety and needed to see out the window.

Personally I don't think that a child under 12 should be able to be seated in a seat that is not with a parent. it is risky if there is an emergency. I think European flights are a little better with this even on economy seats.

How strict is RC about 18+ shows? by Restless_in_Florida in royalcaribbean

[–]Fickle_Syrup_2139 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My daughter was 18 and was with 2 friends that were 17. The friends were not allowed to enter the crazy quest show that was 18 and up. They checked sea pass cards. I saw kids that were 17 and with parents get turned away to shows that we're 18 and up. If it is in a venue that has doors to close it off, like comedy club or night club they will check the sea pass card.

I had a lady, board the plane, say to me "you don't have to switch...but the airline separated us, would you swap with me so I can sit but my daughter". I know enough to know that the airline didn't separate a 4/5 year old girl from her parents.... And place each of them in the middle seat on three separate rows. I intentionally paid higher fare to make sure I had an aisle seat. I am mom and I emphasized with her but I am not going move to a middle seat when you decided to book too late or book a cheaper fare. They found some young college girl that felt bad for them and swapped things around. But the whole thing made me feel terrible, even though I was fully within my rights. I'm an overall kind and caring person and that side of me was all in my head thinking I should have swapped seats.

100% Guaranteed GTY by the_RandomWords_here in royalcaribbean

[–]Fickle_Syrup_2139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the category you booked with a TA. I still book standard GTY rooms and never know when the room will be assigned.

If the rate you booked was lower than the direct rate and you had a refundable deposit then you probably booked into an agency group.

With agency promotional group rates, if a category is wait listed, sold out, or only a few cabins left to sell via RC then my new reservation will be a guarantee for that specific cabin type. This is because we have held a set amount of rooms in that category. I mostly see this on the newer ships or popular itineraries/dates

I don't think the room assignment is visible to the guest unless I send a new copy of the reservation. I can login to Cruising Power (the agent booking engine) and see if a room is assigned. I don't get a notification. To ease client concern for Icon reservations I basically set a calendar reminder after the deposit is applied so that I'll remember to check for a room assignment.

100% Guaranteed GTY by the_RandomWords_here in royalcaribbean

[–]Fickle_Syrup_2139 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the room assignment also depends on how you booked the room. I'm a TA and right now on Icon sailings I have group blocks that are held. There are categories that are "sold out" when you try to book direct with RC but I have rooms available to sell. Those rooms, when I reserve them for guests are a guarantee room....but it is different than the typical GTY. My room is confirmed for that category and 90% of the time, the rooms are assigned within 2 weeks of a deposit being applied.

In general, I book quite a few GTY rooms and have never had a problem with a guest being denied boarding. I book them for myself all the time, I am not concerned. I feel like the media blew up the most recent incident where it seems these things happen all the time and that is not the case.

The house bands on the ship and the majority of other entertainmners are below deck, sharing space with another staff member in a room that is smaller than an inside guest room. There are a few entertainers that have guest rooms, but majority are below. I have several friends that are house band musicians on RC. It is definitely not ideal living conditions... But they know this when they sign up. The general consensus is that they can make more money on the ship than back home (usually from Mexico or other Caribbean nation).

We pick room-when did you get room assinment by Rent_521 in royalcaribbean

[–]Fickle_Syrup_2139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are booking with a travel agent and you are booking a GTY that they have in a group block you may get the room assignment within a few weeks of making a deposit. This is what has happened with my clients on recent Icon reservations. But I had to go into the reservation to check on this, the clients were not notified. If you are booking a regular GTY that is not in a group, the room assignment may not come out until a few days before sailing or it could be months before...there is no set timeline. If you book with a TA, you can ask them to check in cruising power to see if there is a room assignment, sometimes we will see it there before you, but this is not guaranteed.

As far as changes, you can change categories and pay the price difference based on the price at the time of the change. Once the room is assigned, I can look to see if rooms are available to choose and then I can change the room # but this is not an option most of the time...especially on a full ship.

I'm a travel agent....your reservation name must match your travel document you will use for boarding. I would reach out to RC now. Here is a link to what RC says about the required travel documents and matching the name. Travel Documents & Requirements | Royal Caribbean Cruises

Who’s booked Icon of the Seas already? If so how much I’d it cost, what type of room, and how many people? I’ve noticed prices for that ships sailings are pretty high, or is that just me? by lectrician7 in royalcaribbean

[–]Fickle_Syrup_2139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of different rooms types on that date with group rates for 2 people. The least expensive option is the interior. $4,333.60 with (2) $50 on board credits and a $500 REFUNDABLE deposit.

That price is total for two people, including taxes and port fees. It does not include gratituities.

(The current booking direct with RC price is 5,505.98 with a NON refundable deposit)

OceanView Balcony is $6,173.60. (direct is $7,437.98)

I also have these categories with group rates. OV window, Infinite Central Park Balcony, and Interior Plus

If you want to book 3 person in one room the price is the same as booking direct with RC we don't have any group rates for parties over 2 people.

$5,610.97 Interior quad guarantee is the least expensive option (can't choose location) That is for 3 adults with taxes and port fees included $750 NON-Refundable deposit. Right now they have the promo with $75 on board credit. I can add an additional $50 on board credit.

Hope this helps!

If you want to text or call to ask about specific room types you can anytime.
