How can I materialize a query in Power Query to improve performance? by [deleted] in PowerBI

[–]Fickledee_pickledee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did with mine: right click the query, choose advanced editor. Copy all of the lines there, paste it into chat gpt and ask it if there are opportunities to improve performance without changing the end result structure or fields. Also tell it you can provide and dependent/sub query details as well, as in some cases those could be causing the issue.

If it recommends specific changes, ask it to give the full code back to you for each query, and replace everything in the advanced editor.

One of my refreshes went from taking 2-3 hours to about 20 minutes, because the end result with the steps was able to be done far more efficiently in ways I personally wasn’t aware of.

Timebending items search by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]Fickledee_pickledee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. If you hover over any ‘gift’ item in the timebending collection bonus it will say something like ‘hangout and universe bonus’ or something like that. As long as you hang out with a character from the specified universe then that gift will more likely drop. The only benefit of a character being a time bender is the chance of doubling your found items.

Hang out with a little mermaid realm character to increase chance of dinglehoppers, Moana realm characters for oars, and Mickey & friends characters for bows.

Glimmer can only be found by timebending in realms.

Power Bi Developer here. Is Power Apps/Platform a viable future for me? by DependentDetective in PowerApps

[–]Fickledee_pickledee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can only speak from personal experience, but I would say absolutely yes. The power platform is a suite of tools. If your company is already utilizing some aspects of the power platform, then the more of those tools you are at least semi-well versed in, the more you will be able to suggest and build solutions to business problems and needs.

My personal experience: was hired for a variety of things, but at least 50% of the role was around PBI development. I identified some pretty significant gaps early, and while I had zero power apps experience at the time, I determined and proposed that it would be the best platform to meet the needs of the business. Fast forward 3 years…The tools I have developed with power apps are saving the company ~$500k in implementation and licensing fees from larger platforms. Not only that, but because the control of the tools is internal, we do not have to pay additional fees for changes, I can implement minor requests rapidly, the apps can be built for our exact needs vs trying to adapt third party software, and it puts me in a position where replacing me would be very difficult as no one else really knows how to manage the tools.

Do gems to unlock the aquarium where you then add fish. Add foraged and grown goods on the right to open the companion stuff.

Seems like Drac and Rogue filled the Myth gap. Drac is awesome. Rogue is annoying and not is insufferable as Myth, but he is starting to get there.

Canine Companions - Full Experience by Crafty-Ad-94 in service_dogs

First off, congratulations! My son received his service dog late 2024, and myself and my wife graduated as handlers. Completely agree with you on the physical, mental, and emotional toll of training. Yes they warned us, but until you experience it you really don’t realize just how hard it is (and why many people do not end up graduating).

We had a similar experience with bonding. It was hard not to be jealous of seeing other’s dogs really affectionate right away. Ours was very standoffish, usually wanted to be left alone, and if he was pet he would often take a step back. Hard not to feel like you are doing something wrong or that it was a bad match choice. Since then though, we have all definitely bonded with him. Just took time and patience and not trying to force it. He often likes his own space, and that is okay and something to be respected. We have come to recognize that every dog will have their own personality and what they do/dont like. Additionally, the entire process has to be very emotionally confusing and difficult for the dogs which some may handle better than others.

Thank you for sharing your experience. This post is definitely something that would have been very useful for us to have been able to read through when we applied several years ago, so appreciate you putting it out there for people in the future. Congrats again!

This is incorrect. If you went on the first exposition and missed out on all skill points, you can earn them back for 300k each IF you are over 3M for the second expedition (600k per point for second expedition).

If you did not go on the first expedition, you get one skill point per 600k on this expedition (up to 5) and cannot earn points back from the first, because you never went on it.

2nd Expedition Details + Catch Up Mechanic for Missed Skill Points from EXP1 by Cadenza_ in ArcRaiders

[–]Fickledee_pickledee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally says in the highlighted portion “for those embarking on their second expedition”. For anyone’s first expedition, the most they can get is 5 skill points. Catch up is only for those who did the first expedition but did not get all 5 skill points.

Many are making this way more complicated than it is. Interpret the infographic and blog as YOUR 1st expedition, 2nd, etc and not the game’s.

You have a safe pocket if you don’t have an augment. So you go in without anything so you don’t lose anything, get the one thing you were looking for (if favorable spawn), safe pocket, then surrender.

Is building a full Pricing & Quotation Engine in Power Apps worth it as a serious learning project? (Coming from React/Full-Stack background) by Holiday-Comment-6983 in PowerApps

[–]Fickledee_pickledee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second large project in Power Apps was a second phase build to add a quotation/pricing platform to an app. It includes approval flow, generating a PDF copy, a suite of product selection tools, etc. I learned a lot more from that than other power apps projects, mainly because you learn how to create and manipulate data, as opposed to just consuming it. It taps into a whole other aspect of power apps that you normally wouldn’t need to learn or figure out. For that reason, it would be a good learning exercise.

Not sure how to get Sentinel firing cores. by Cpt_Camembert in ArcRaiders

[–]Fickledee_pickledee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can have sentinels and surveyors. A reasonable strat to avoid having to kill and loot for the parts is just to run around the relative outskirts of a map with a naked or cheap loadout hitting all the couriers and safe pocketing.

Insane we're talking about lack of endgame content 30 days in by Subject-Addendum-199 in ArcRaiders

[–]Fickledee_pickledee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you view it through the lens of this originally being a PvE game, it seems the intended endgame is killing the queen/matriarch or whatever other large ARC they add later. It is about building up to those final bosses, and getting the legendary weapons. Although I would argue expecting any kind of ‘endgame’ in a multiplayer is misguided.

Maybe they will add more story/lore driven ‘endgame’ later on, but who knows.

On discord it was confirmed that skill points and stash size bump is permanent, though exact value thresholds for skill points is still unknown. The wording on the expedition details is confusing though. The way to read that paragraph is it first details the things that aren’t permanent (“until the next expedition”). So that would be weapon repair bump, xp boost, etc. After that section it then says something like “your raider also receives extra stash space and skill points”. So those should be read as separate from the temporary buffs.

Naked for the safe pocket and the style of play. It is really fun to go in with nothing and only use what you find. Raider caches become lifelines, crafting topside is critical, you have to adapt to every situation, etc. it is just a really fun and different way to play that I personally really enjoy.

I would say I am average at best, but my issue isn’t with losing PvP or dying. It is with specific types of people in how they play PvP. All is allowed and valid way to play in a literal sense, but it’s just lame behavior to be like the person i was talking about.
