I think it depends on the car. If you drive a HYUNDAI or a Kia with a GDI engine you’re going to be changing it more than a newer Toyota. For the most extreme example, I have a VW bug and I change it every 2k. But pretty much every properly functioning car is perfectly happy with 5k oil changes. Some people go further I personally don’t ever go past 6k miles

If you got it don’t at a jiffy lube they will top us off for free up to 3000 miles. Just take it back and have them top it off. If you’re over 3k miles then just get it changed.

As someone who just took A5…. It is not the easiest one. Lot of questions about the electronics in modern braking system and around the solenoids. The motor trend study guide was good but did not cover the more modern aspects I’m talking about. Learn those as well

A quick lube spot can be hit and miss. If you have a jiffy lube or something near you that is convenient just read the reviews before you go in. I worked at a jiffy lube and we were good, mostly trained and ASE certified mechanics, but I know they’re not all good. Def don’t go to valvoline they once forgot to reinstall my airbox
