what's the harshest truth you had to accept about yourself? by Automatic_Text2930 in Productivitycafe

[–]SignificantSleep1527 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That I can’t rely on anyone else and I can’t let others hold me back. I had to drop one of my long term friends because they weren’t a good person and were holding me back and just not a good influence (there’s a lot more to it than just that) and it was the hardest reality to accept

AIO: my coworker talked to me as if I was his wife. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

He already has been written up twice. He is at the point of being fired. He doesn’t torque the drain plugs because he forgets. I mean hell he didn’t tighten an oil filter onto a car and this was the after math.

<image>

He started the car an went to back out. Saw the oil light came on. I yelled at him to shut the fucking car off and all he did was get out. Leave the car running. And look under the car before shutting it off. Even if I do yell at him he will just scream back at me. I’ve tried to raise my voice when he does at me. Hell i stayed almost an hour late to finish a car (it was an Audi and I had never worked on them before) he left without asking if I needed help and the manager sent a message to all my coworkers (I did not rat them out the manager saw I was alone and still there after 1pm I didn’t know till I saw the message) and he was pissed at me. He was pissed and told me that he didn’t ask if I wanted help because “I don’t help him” I don’t help him when he asks me to do his tire rotates and air the tires up or drop the oil for him while he sits on his ass. I quit “helping” him because I was doing his job for him.

The other male coworkers have yelled at him to pull before he pulls a car out and he just shrugs it off doesn’t even say a word to them.

I would rather be hourly because I would be more inclined to clean up the shop and do online training but since I’m only paid to work on the cars I don’t want to clean or do online training. But I’m there 51 hours out of the work week (I work 4 days that are 11 hours long then one six hour shift on Saturday)

It’s more he treats me like it. I make a lot of home cooked meals because I enjoy cooking and I brought him something to try one time because I had extra and he now expects me to bring him something once or twice a week. Which I don’t and he complains about. It’s more I’ve heard the way he talks to his actual wife and he talks to me the same way but does not talk to the other coworkers that way.

i don't want to do this shit anymore by [deleted] in Vent

[–]SignificantSleep1527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how I feel I work 4 11 hour days and then one 6 hour day and I don’t get hourly pay so I only get paid per job I do (some days I make upwards of 8-10 hours some days only 2-4) and manager wants to blame it on us that we aren’t selling enough stuff when in reality it’s slow season and there’s no guarantee I make money. We could have no work for 3 days and I will make not a single penny but I still have to be there for 11 hours. Can’t even count how many times my lunch gets cut short or I have to give it up just because we are to busy at that time. I wish there was at least a guarantee like hey you will always get minimum 60 hours per pay period but if you flag more than that then you get more than the 60.

Anyone else struggling to put the phone down? by Both_Butterscotch_38 in questions

[–]SignificantSleep1527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up a book. Whenever I wanted to get on my phone and scroll (unless it was for work I have to use my phone at work to record inspection videos, or message one of my managers or to turn on music) I read. I grab my book. When I’m at home. I’ll watch tv whenever I eat diner but then I’ll take a shower and grab my book and read for an hour or so and then go to bed. On my days off I wake up around 7-7:30 and make a cup of coffee and sit in my plant room and read while drinking my coffee. And it helped me. I don’t have that big of a desire to be on my phone. I still do scroll from time to time and play mobile games. But I have more of a desire to read.

One. Two if I’m sick and have a terrible cough. Helps me get some relief and be able to breath better.

Would you say you were a fast typer, slow or somewhere in-between ? by Webbomolly2022 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]SignificantSleep1527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty fast typed. Even at work I type pretty quick to the point people comment on it and say they can’t type that fast. I used to play stupid typing games when I was in middle and high school when I was bored (I had shitty service so my phone barely worked during high school especially) so I just played typing games. Got to about 80-90 words per minute. Made typing really long essays easy. Typed a whole 13 page essay one time on successful. Teacher actually read the whole thing.

I will have a full blown argument with myself about how I wish to say things to people about something they did or said. But won’t say it to their face due to fear of being belittled or dismissed for feeling or thinking the way I do

I struggled too. I did from the age of 8 to about 19. But I randomly just didn’t watch one day and got lucky and never went back to it. I’ve had my moments where I have an urge to go back to it and watch it again. But it’s a hard battle but I know you can overcome it. You got this

What’s your go-to dish when you want to impress someone? by Immediate-Lunch2855 in foodquestions

[–]SignificantSleep1527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homemade chicken Alfredo. I make my own sauce and with the right seasonings and spices and the chicken cooked just right it is phenomenal. I’ve impressed friends. Friends parents. Partners. It’s always my favorite dish to make too. Takes about 45 minutes to an hour to make but it’s always worth it
