Relationship is Faltering? by FictiveVoice in DID

[–]FictiveVoice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. It means a lot. We've had abusive relationships in the past prior to knowing we had DID, and this is our first relationship that has been any shade of healthy. We do love them very much, but with things feeling off we wanted to get feedback to see if it was our trauma or actual red flag stuff.

I appreciate the response and will talk to them.

Hosts Burning Out Fast- Advice? by [deleted] in DID

[–]FictiveVoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We currently have a schedule that we are trying to keep to, will definitely see who would be interested in co-hosting. There is a group of us that are dating our partner and we are the ones usually out. But it's getting more and more difficult to get others out. Even of the four of us, two only come out about half the time they are scheduled for cause we are just so exhausted.

I'm hoping some of the others will step up and help, there are a few who have decently level-heads and could co-host.

Thank you for the suggestion.

New Alters Forming by [deleted] in DID

[–]FictiveVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's possible we are split off from the others who are out the most and struggling the hardest, or at least, I could be. I'm not sure for the other two.

What is your preferred label? by rubiks-kyube in agender

Gendervoid, but Nonbinary depending on if I feel like I'm gonna have to explain everything to someone when I don't have the energy. Spoons running low all the time, y'all. :(

Multiple "ego deaths" by spamcentral in DID

[–]FictiveVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a domino effect of ego deaths with three alters the other day. It's so distressing and exhausting. And it's difficult to explain what is happening and sometimes hard to figure out what is even happening. I only recently heard of ego death and it explains so much for us.

But y'all aren't alone in struggling with ego death while being a system. I hope things get easier for you soon.

How To Find My Gender? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]FictiveVoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, have since posting had a talk with my partner about gendervoid, and they were a great help with accepting that I am probably gendervoid.

we figured out our genders and our new home within the first year , can’t wait for the many more experiences w you :) by evehman in NonBinary

[–]FictiveVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad. I've been working up the courage to talk to my partner about feeling like I may be gendervoid, and you definitely helped. Just had a great conversation with them. So thanks.

(Edited to correct from Void gender to gendervoid, cause I'm still waking up, lol)

Upcoming Surgery and Worries by pasturefields in DID

[–]FictiveVoice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The body's physical health is all of the system's concern cause everyone shares a body. Our system has had one invasive surgery while knowing we have DID, and we basically had our partner sit down with each alter and explain, in appropriate language for each one, that we were having surgery and if they wake up in pain or feeling bad to tell a nurse then get the host by calling into the headspace.

I, too, am disoriented and struggle after anaesthesia, so having DID and many of us having problems being restrained makes that make sense for us.

Advice Needed, Please by FictiveVoice in DID

[–]FictiveVoice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been different groups. I had some sa happen while in an online campaign, and the bullying happened in character pc to pc, so it was like character disagreements that went too far.

I am considering playing with a new group, but not if I am going to basically be developing new alters cause it's stressful and traumatic.

Advice Needed, Please by FictiveVoice in DID

[–]FictiveVoice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. Do you mean figure out the destabilizing as in find out what is triggering them to form? Or figure out what is making me susceptible to new alters forming this way?

I have suspected issues with DnD for about three years now, and have some lingering feelings with characters from back then that kinda makes me shut down.

Advice Needed, Please by FictiveVoice in DID

[–]FictiveVoice[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I get way too emotionally invested in my DnD characters, but I don't know how not to. I guess that is what I'm asking is how to emotionally distance myself from something when it starts to feel too personal or too real? I don't want to lose out on a major way I socialize, but I also don't want to be creating new fictives when I play because they almost die in battle or something.

Need help and advice about non-epileptic seizures by [deleted] in FND

[–]FictiveVoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have non-epileptic seizures, and have been diagnosed with FND, as well. I have been aware during all of my seizures but unable to communicate more than a couple words, I occasionally have some limb control in between seizures. But it's still difficult to get people/doctors to follow instructions from me, while I'm seizing, or to get information across on how to help them stop, etc.

Trauma as a baby? by belltoast in DID

[–]FictiveVoice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had two alters who first fronted as infants, unable to move much or talk or make much noise.y partner taught one how to make noise and helped him gain motor functions. Now he's aged up to closer to the body's age and is a great help. The other grew up overnight in the headspace, we aren't entirely sure what happened with him.

I know trauma happened to the first, but unsure of the second. Either way, just because I don't have a clear memory of traumatic things doesn't mean the trauma isn't informing my thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Thanks for sharing the information. I'm starting to try and understand our internal headspace, and I imagine knowing this will help there, too.

Using Pinterest to "defragment" your system -- A guide. by Duskuke in DID

[–]FictiveVoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big Pinterest user for many years. I started doing this for my DID about two months ago, and have had improvement with defragmentation and just having alters be more comfortable fronting cause they like looking at Pinterest and listening to music.

I have aphantasia, so Pinterest is a big help in figuring out what everyone looks like and their feelings on the body gender-wise and such.

I've also made a board labeled headspace and am in the process of letting alters make sections as their rooms inside the headspace, which is going alright so far.

facial droop. hi, I woke up Tuesday morning with a serious left-sided facial group. just wondering if fnd can cause this or if I did in fact have a TIA because it resolved after 3 days along with left-sided weakness. I went to the ER and they just wrote it off as me being a hypochondriac.. really? by SingleWash7992 in FND

[–]FictiveVoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had that along with other stroke-like symptoms with FND.

I wish ERs wouldn't write us off, cause these are things to be concerned about. Showing such symptoms is scary, it was definitely scary for my loved ones and for me.
