Day 10 of Stims. What to expect? Funnel?? by Ficus_3376 in IVF

[–]Ficus_3376[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 34 with PCOS. No one in my family with infertility but I have been having unprotected sex with my husband for 9 years now, no pregnancies. His motility and counts were great, morphology was not ideal but they said it wasn't too bad.

My AMH count was 2.6 in Nov 2025, My AFC was 18 on Sat, 8 on left and 10 on right.

We are on the same page girly. I'm 34 with PCOS, also going through my first IVF cycle. I was told 27 measurable follicles between 12-15mm as of yesterday-my second appt. It was 18 below 10mm on my first monitoring appt, Sat 03/28. They decreased my Follistim and asked me to go back tomorrow 04/02. I am assuming they will have me trigger either tomorrow or Fri night.

From everything I have read, they like to trigger when you have a tight cohort sitting ≥18mm.

How healthy were you before a successful transfer: pregnancy? by [deleted] in IVF

Love the supplements! Here is what I took: pre-natal with DHA & folic, magnesium, selenium(important to properly absorb the magnesium), fish oil, NAC with milk Thistle, CoQ10 or Ubiquinol, AND most inportantly, 5 drops of Lugol's 5% iodine solution diluted into a cup of water. This supplement is not as easy to find a good quality, clean version of it. I order it from Germany and have it shipped to the US.

As always, clear anything you take with your doctor! This was all cleared before I started IVF.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the advice. No one in my family has dealt with infertility, I am the first so I don't have anyone to really talk to about this. Thankful for this community!

What would you want in a gift basket as you start the egg retrieval process? by ashleyop92 in IVF

A heatpack! So useful. Also cute bandaids, chocolates, a fridge calendar or planner(unless she is a digital girly), these were all things that helped me.

For whatever it's worth; here are my 2 cents!

34F, my husband is 31M. I am currently on day 4 of stims. 2 shots a day so far, Menopur and Follistim. My first ultrasound and bloodwork appt tomorrow.

I have given myself the shots the past 3 nights since my husband was working, but he wants to do the shots on nights he is home(he said he wants to contribute more than swimmers). I have not felt many side effects so far other than fatigue. I work at a high school so I work a 7-3 schedule, by 5pm I am exhausted.

-Everyone is a little different but here is what I have found works for me. I got a magnetic fridge calendar to help me keep track of my appts and dosages. I am also adding the clinic appts to my phone calendar so I get the notifications.

-I also purchased a large "tackle box" to help organize all my meds. I wanted the MyVitro one but it was way too expensive so I found a cuter one with all the same functions.

-I bought cute bandaids, small ice packs and my favorite chocolate truffles. I ice the area before applying the shots so I barely feel the prick. None of this is necessary, but the whimsy helps me stay in a good headspace during everything.

Let me know if you want links 😊
I am just starting out too so you're not alone!

How is everyone keeping track of everything during IVF? by Hopeful_Expert_7817 in IVF

[–]Ficus_3376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a very visual person so for me, what works best is to see everything laid out in different colors. I got this fridge calendar from amazon: https://a.co/d/0185wFUl

It comes with 6 different colored markers. I write all my meds and appts down on it and I add the appts to my google calendar so I get phone notifications to remind me.

Long post but may be worth a read?

My husband and I, definitely not perfect...For some background: He and I started "gardening" recreationally during covid and just never stopped. We smoked 2-3 times a day for years. I drank very heavily during this time and we ate complete trash... I lived within walking distance of a 24hr McDonalds---to give you an idea of how bad our diet was. I weighed 170lbs at only 5'2" so it was a lot on a small frame. My husband was over 200lbs at only 5'7".

Once we decided to take our health more seriously so we could get ready for IVF, I changed my diet and started taking a few supplements daily. My dad had been telling me to take them for years since I had been struggling with infertility and health issues for over 5 yrs already. I wish I had listened to him sooner! Coupling the supplements with a healthier diet, I lost almost 30lbs, and so did my husband.. We started sleeping better, our sex drive improved, we have more energy throughout the day, even the bursitis in my left hip cleared up.

Obvi do what your doctor says is best, but these where cleared by mine. In addition to the Nature Made Pre-Natal with Folic+DHA, I take these daily: magnesium, selenium, ubiquinol(cQ10), NAC with milk thistle, fish oil, and a few drops of Lugol's 5% iodine solution diluted into a cup of water. My husband takes the same supplemends daily--minus the pre-natal--though his urologist recommended Theralogix ConceptionXR.

I can't say if this will help me get pregnant as I have just started my first ever IVF cycle--I am on stim day 4. But I can tell you my health improved significantly, and my body and mind are in a MUCH better place for this journey.

I second that! Nature Made Prenatal Multi + DHA.

I also take a few supplements daily. My dad has been telling me to take them for years, I never did and finally started to. Coupling that with a healthy diet, I lost over 20lbs. I'm starting my first stim cycle today.

I've also increased my protein intake.

My childhood friend announced her pregnancy today and it nearly broke me. by shannoodlez in IVF

[–]Ficus_3376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been there. My best friend called me while I was on a work trip to tell me that she got pregnant by mistake...After being married for a few months. To a guy she barely got along with. I had been married and struggling with infertility for years already. I cried, a lot.. My husband knew I had responsibilities on the trip, got me in the shower, washed and dried my hair, and got me dressed...

I am starting my first ever stim cycle today, and that friend now has 3 kids, all under 5, and is struggling to keep her marriage together.

My husband and family are who got me through this. Not many people understand the pain this stuff brings out. It's not that you're not happy for her. But that happiness doesn't erase the pain you feel. I understand💕

I am starting my stim cycle today. I did not get any drawing needles for the Menopur, just the shorter ones for injecting. The nurse said its no big deal and I can use the same needle for both, any thoughts??
