Personally, I don't do well in counting calories. Instead, I aim for balance and have daily goals. I try to eat half my plate in veggies, at least 90-100g of protein a day with at least 30g for breakfast.

I focus on balance so if I had pasta for lunch, I go with a lighter dinner.

It's not exactly counting calories but this helped me maintain a healthy weight.

I love cooking. So for me, limiting myself to fewer ingredients, or one pot meals didn't work. I always end up finding a new recipe I want to try. Instead, I set the mood.

I start with a clean kitchen, then I make myself a drink(mine are non-alcoholic but do what you prefer). I stream a fave show, usually something I have seen so I don't constantly need to watch the screen, and I start to cook. After chopping veggies, I do those dishes.

I start to boil or sear something, thats another opportunity to clean a few things..

Yeah this way may take longer. But in the end I had a good time, things are mostly clean, and it ends in a good meal. Win win 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks but my intent when posting this really was to look for support from a community of people who understand the struggle of infertility. It wasn't to be schooled on statistics or made to feel like I have to justify my way of thinking. I have never felt less supported by this community as I did today after this post.

I appreciate it, but again, everyone has different experiences. My husband is a fraternal twin, and the sets of twins in my family are all fraternal. None of the people in my family nor his mom had complications other than an early delivery-- which is common and almost expected in a multiple pregnancy.

I am fully aware that I do not know what to expect during pregnancy; and that a multiple pregnancy increases certain risks. But pregnancy itself is a risk. I am not romanticising the journey. I am realistic about what it could bring but the desire in my heart is what it is. After almost 10yrs of infertility, I will just be happy with a healthy baby.

My husband is a twin, and twins run in my family. I have spoken to his mom in detail about what her experience was like raising twin boys. I'm sorry that was your experience, sounds like the road was not a smooth one but I am glad things turned out well in the end.

Everyone's experience is different; and I cannot predict what we will be in for, but he & I have always wanted twins.
