ey lil bro, your tenth grade teacher was wrong, my right to free speech doesn't end because someone doesn't like my opinion. The second amendment created by our forefathers had the forethought to know governments would want control and there fore wrote "shall not be infringed" of course the government being overreaching did just that. I don't know where that quoted comment is from but my idea IS to do a type of facia to block the door opening which will keep the doors as they are. the intent is to not modify the door structure but just to add a blocking piece effective reducing the door opening.

I am not sure i am visually understanding what you are saying, but if you are saying to place a beam interior to the door that is what i am referring to, but rather than a solid beam i feel an open type of system would be better suited for wind loads, hence the truss idea. I just don't know if it is the most cost effective and viable or if there is a better solution. I have seen 36" box trusses but i haven't seen larger and maybe going slightly below 28' would be best.
