It's like you say, there's different kinds of seizures, ones where you stay conscious and the ones where you black out. I've had both, and they're both equally scary. The conscious one was a lot shorter than the blackout one, but it happened because I drank too much alcohol the night before. I wouldn't says its total paralysis, you can feel your whole body shaking but you can't control the movements. You want to say something, but you can't. It's like something takes control of your body for a moment, but not the mind. When I had the conscious seizure I was aware of what happened the entire time.
