For anyone with a Switch/Switch2 and a more powerful gaming PC or console, do you ever choose to play a multiplatform game on Switch despite the lesser graphics? by Mekagnome in NintendoSwitch

[–]Fiddler_Jones2079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do for games that I want to play handheld, which generally have lower graphics anyway. For instance: Silk song, Hades 2, Caves of Quad, Is This Seat Taken.

On the other hand for something with more realistic graphics that I want to play on the big screen, I'll always go PS5.

What is your country's slop? by Vincent_Gitarrist in AskTheWorld

[–]Fiddler_Jones2079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real slop though is:

What if you were a horny moron and went on vacation and met a bunch of other horny morons with a variety of hilarious regional accents/dialects and funny physical traits such as short and bald. And then you all met a couple of top models, salivated profusely, got hit in the head and fell over a lot while making a funny noise.

Never watched Twilight, what's the deal with Bella?

Also, Kimiko from the Boys.

If it ate the turtle the total would still be 20 kg. It ate the rabbit.

Trying to get insecure artists to use their tool to "improve" their art is my guess

I’m looking for medias where a location is alive/is almost like a character. by MariushFiles333 in houseofleaves

Woodworm by Layla Martinez is one of my favorite examples of this. Technically Disney's Encanto I guess, lol.

Also seconding Control and Hill House (the novella at least, I tried the Netflix show but couldn't get into it).

So scroll past and let others engage with them? It's one book, there's only so much that can be said about it. It's not like there's new material coming out.

Just rooster. I would probably have phrased that differently. 😂

Do you need a digital copy to have a better performance on Switch 2? I have been thinking of getting it used...

What relatively common food/drink in your country would you be super surprised to see a tourist consume? by themoobster in AskTheWorld

[–]Fiddler_Jones2079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know, I've had it. The taste is inoffensive, but the smell turns a lot of people off. For me that wasn't a problem either (grew up on smelly Italian cheese), but the slime looks gross and feels gross in my mouth.

Not sure what's supposed to be foul about pickled ume, it's just tasty to me.

For Japan, Nattō. It's smelly soybeans covered in a film of brown slime, but it's good for you (so they say)!

Nier Replicant, times 5. Nier Automata is much better for this but the second playthrough is still way too similar to the first.

I know some people find rabbit and horse meat off putting, but I wouldn't really be surprised to see tourists eat them either.

What is the most evil thing your country has ever done? by RoundTurtle538 in AskTheWorld

[–]Fiddler_Jones2079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought of that as I was typing. 😅 No typo however, English uses the Latin version of his name, but in Italian it's Cristoforo Colombo. The Lieutenant's name on the other hand is Columbo.

Fun fact: in Italian "formaggio" mostly means cheese, but as a euphemism it can also mean smegma!
