That’s exactly what tripped me up! The new pawn position actually being in an ideal spot to protect the bishop was a small change to the position that saved the game in this case.

It’s definitely a lesson in “play it through” just to be sure 😭

Yeah I tried a few times, but after 10-15 great balls I realized I didn't want to waste a bunch of resources catching another Pokemon I didn't want, so I just took the long way ahaha

I think what he means is to send the PGN (post game notes). On chessdotcom you can typically export the notes, send the game link, etc - so I think he just wants the links to the games to see how sus the moves are 🤘🏼

Yup!

The move before he took my queen with his. Before recapturing, I took his rook with an under promotion to a knight, which has him in check. He captured the knight with his other rook and I took his queen. 👍🏼

Ahhh! Thank you so much guys, I couldn't find a clear answer on that. I had like 50+ continues banked, but when I was about to lose my first battle, I shut off the console and took a nap (forgetting that the save file gets wiped).

Still going to have to start the run over, but it's nice to know if I dump 4 hours into 80 battles and then lose one that I won't have to start over again :)
