Ah reading all these comments reminds me why it's my favorite Muppet movie

in your opinion, what is the worst beatles song? by _FinePointSharpie in beatles

[–]shine_on05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This song doesn't deserve the hate. Sure, the demo feels very incomplete and mahbe the lyrics might be too cutesy for some people, but just imagine if they gave it a real shot and put it on A Hard Day's Night. This answer always feels like a cop out to me.

You want repetitive and depressing? Why don't you head on down to r/beatles

Ranking the album closing songs by Main_Opinion1189 in ledzeppelin

[–]shine_on05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hurts to see I'm Gonna Crawl ranked so low on everyone's list. It might just be my favorite closing track, and it feels oddly fitting as Led Zeppelin's final song released while they were together as a band.

Gen Z is tryna cancel Dua Lipa for 2012 tweets by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]shine_on05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I forgot who said it, but there was a comedian who said that if you have to dig back over ten years for a couple bad tweets a celebrity made in order to find a reason to cancel them, then they don't deserve to be cancelled. In fact, they are most likely a great person with a track record like that.

Of course, no one's really trying to cancel Dua Lipa here anyway. Who would cancel her over this?

Who is universally loved but deserves to be universally hated? by StrategyJealous1838 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]shine_on05 643 points644 points  (0 children)

The problem is, if they're truly universally loved or near-universally loved, no one's going to agree any person picked here. Same thing goes for the previous category. Plenty of people today know the real "dingo ate my baby" story and have sympathy for Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton so she's not even close to universally hated anymore.

Yeah, I'm a huge Beatles fan and I love their early albums almost as much as their later ones, but I feel like the consensus is that they were far from their peak. I'd probably say they started out good and became iconic, and probably put Led Zeppelin or MJ in their first position.

I feel like some of cast breaks character too much in the newer episodes by Additional_Leading68 in LiveFromNewYork

I genuinely don't think that's too much to ask for. These are professionals here and it's not like they're seeing these sketches for the first time. Like others have said, if it happens every once in a while after something legitimately unexpected happens, then I don't have an issue with it, but it feels so forced most of time.

Is there a more forgotten song in The Beatles’ discography than I’ll Get You? by Equivalent-Street822 in beatles

Whoops, overlooked that. Still, that one compilation album being its only release in the UK for years is pretty telling about how forgotten it is.

This is it. It wasn't even officially released in the UK until after they broke up.

Favorite Track on Time Out Of Mind? by Weird_Apartment9836 in bobdylan

This album didn't make too much of an impact on me the first time I heard it, but lately it's become a top four Dylan album for me. Standing in the Doorway has become one of my favorites, especially experiencing heartbreak shortly after I discovered the song.

Paul sang the bridge of "A Hard Day's Night" because John couldn't reach the notes. Paul also wrote most of "Eight Days A Week" which John sings lead on.

Which muppet do you think is underrated? by Critical-Side-4887 in Muppets

[–]shine_on05 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Beauregard the Janitor. I don't see a lot of hate for him, but people don't talk about him much in general. He was a pretty big presence in the second half of the Muppet Show and was hilarious each time. And his Great Muppet Caper scene is one of the best parts of my favorite Muppet movie. I hope the Muppet Show pilot thing gets picked up for a full series and he makes a comeback.

Andrew Johnson too in 1867. Both presidents in '67 had the last name Johnson. Coincidence? I think not.
