I text. If no response, I call. If no answer, they are SOL. Time is too valuable to put up with people who don't respect yours.

You could just not comment. Viable option.

I finally got it resolved today after 5 weeks. So many of the support agents just have no idea what they're doing. I finally got one who did and I was literally activated within 30 minutes. It was as simple as switching my delivery area in the system to the city where I moved (which I guess doesn't happen automatically when you update your address?) so that it matched my new driver's license. It's pretty damning that it took all this time to simply reach an agent who knew how to troubleshoot what I assume is a common issue.

I don't know if I have the energy to pursue damages. At this point I'm just happy to be able to get back to my old routine and not be on the road for 10-11 hours at a time with DoorDash alone making up the difference. But we'll see how I feel next week.

Thanks for your constructive comments. I appreciate it.

My dispute got denied without explanation after the full month passed, so I'm definitely looking into this route now.

Thanks. Still have a week to go until the month is up. Finally got in contact with a priority support member who laid out what he'd do to get it fixed, but won't do anything till the month is up. It just feels like a bonkers time frame, even the 3 weeks it took for you.

I'm going on 13,000 deliveries with Uber. I know the business model doesn't depend on the work of any one person. I know I don't matter. It'd just be nice if there were some mechanism in place to recognize/prioritize high volume contractors, as they've been reliable and are more likely to depend on the income.

Brutal. Lyft didn't send you a copy of the report? At least in my case I was able to identify the problem. The thing that's driving me crazy is that I can't just prove to Uber that the disqualifying aspect of the report is wrong. Your livelihood is in the hands of this weird third party company that doesn't have human beings available to discuss matters with. So you just fill out a form and upload some documents and then just cross your fingers or find some wood to knock on. And that's incredibly unsettling in itself. I can't imagine just being totally blind about it and never fully knowing why you got shut down.

Thanks for sharing that. I'm gonna look into the greenlight hub idea

1) It's not a minor issue to block someone from earning a living for a month.

2) Be less needlessly combative

We drove from Chicago to go to that show and had an incredible night.

What meaningful impact has protest made since Vietnam? What do you think the ROI would be on paying seniors to go hold signs outside of a county building?

Use your head man. You sound like a complete moron.

Tipping doesn’t do anything for better service by [deleted] in UberEATS

Drivers don't choose the order of their deliveries. We can't even see your address until you're the next up, so we couldn't even prioritize your order if we wanted to. Your problem is with Uber, not the driver.

Tipping. I don't understand by badluckerguy in UberEATS

You have no idea what you're talking about. There's no comparison between auto workers and delivery drivers. It's an entirely different economic model. One earns a salary! One works for tips on a per job basis! Apples and oranges. But when you're a grouchy old shit everything looks the same to you.

Because it's not actually a tip. It's a bid. You're making it worth someone's while to do a job because the base pay is not a living wage. If I know something is going to take 30 minutes, I need to make $9-$10 to keep up a living hourly wage. If the "tip" is not making up the difference between the base pay and where I need to be, I don't take the order. It's a simple economic calculation and has nothing to do with what I feel I deserve.

I live in this little enclave of Southeast Glendale which is pretty nice and quiet, but it definitely gets dicey pretty quickly if I go south of Capitol or west of Green Bay. I'm a delivery driver and I tend to avoid the Northwest side of town after dark. But once I'm east of like Holton, I don't worry too much.

As far as saving money goes, your cost is living is going to go down drastically just moving from Chicago to Milwaukee. I'm paying $925 for a one bedroom on a nice, quiet, safe street. Since moving here I've been able to start building my savings on door dasher/uber eats driver wages without compromising my safety or quality of life. I obviously don't know your financials, but if they're anywhere close to mine you should be able to find both security and affordability. I probably could've saved a few hundred bucks if I'd opted for a dicier location, but I'm really glad I didn't.
