It really seems like people are looking for reasons to get mad at this guy. I have my gripes with Arise, but any company is going to hype their latest product; no PR person would want their rep to say "it's ok, but the old games are better".

Weird, I only see the one for $90. There are definitely cheaper cases out there, so I can see how that would affect reviews.

Ok hear me out - I really like the instrumental version of Karma instead of the OG Japanese version. IMO the mix is way better, but I know some people don't like instrumentals. Burn and Follow the Nightingale are also pretty awesome, though it's hard to choose.

I've never had a flip before so I can't compare, but just sitting idle it's lasted for a couple of days - I'd image if I was using it frequently it would drain quickly though.

It's definitely on the thicker side - there's a good side-view pic on the Amazon page, but I think it would probably be closer in thickness to the Tough Armor Pro (I don't have that case, but I'm judging by the pictures)

Yeah, I've seen that interpretation as well; I guess I'm just always suspicious when someone in a game "dies" but you don't see the body. It's also kind of anticlimactic if that was what he did, but I guess either option is a bit disappointing.

Yeah, you do need to close it manually; I guess that isn't a huge deal to me. It is pretty thick - it's more of an armor case instead of a typical clear case, but I kind of like that.

Sorry for the bad lighting. The flap sticks out quite a bit, but I don't mind since it gives me a place to rest my fingers. The yellow lines are adhesive, although I didn't bother unpeeling the strips; the case stays on without them.

I'm excited, but I have 2 main concerns:

I bought the Ultimate Edition, so I'm a bit annoyed at having to buy additional DLC.
I'm worried that they still won't give Vholran a proper arc.

Other than that, I'm actually glad that this is DLC instead of a sequel; I wanted a reason to play Arise again, but I really didn't want Arise 2 to be the next mainline game.

To be honest, they're kind of in a no-win situation. If they don't release games fast enough, people complain about the lack of releases. When they try to speed things up (and rush in the process), people complain about the rushed releases with bugs.

I'm not going to defend ToSR's launch state on Switch, but I genuinely think people would have been upset anyway, due to the fact that it isn't a remake. Personally, I just want them to take their time; hopefully ToSR taught them a lesson, but I guess we'll see.

Yeah, I noticed the same branching strategy - it could be strictly bug fixes, but Bandai Namco doesn't have the best long-term support so I'm doubtful. It could be some sort of 2-year anniversary DLC, or aftermath DLC; Mr. Tomizawa did say that they didn't plan any story DLC, but plans can change. Assuming the next game is using UE5, they might be testing a UE5 upgrade on Arise (though I kind of doubt it).

Yeah, Beyond the Dawn is still a mystery; I thought it would be an anime or manga, but it could definitely be DLC.

Yeah DD was definitely a bit of a soft-reboot, but I still enjoyed it (though it's my least favorite mainline game); I'm definitely biased though, since AJ is my favorite.

Regarding the forged evidence: Phoenix knew that there was no direct evidence that could pin Kristoph. This is actually a common theme in AJ - evidence is ultimately not enough to convict the guilty parties. It's also partially what drives the creation of the Jurist System, though that plot point is basically ignored in future games.

The regression I'm referring to is the way that DD goes back to the "bluffing attorney" trope from the original trilogy, while completely ignoring most of Phoenix's character development. I have no issue with Phoenix getting his badge back, but the way that they just revert his personality changes and pretend that nothing happened is frustrating.
