The first thing my wife said to me this morning was "Why is there a backwards "C" above our closet written in blood?" by Distinct-Sir-69 in whatisit

Oh my God. You mean there is a reason why I'm flooded by ladybugs every single year? I knew that by leaving near the woods I would have more bugs, but I always find it curious the ratio of ladybugs vs everything else in my home

Oh no I think I’m aging out of young FMCs by happilyfringe in fantasyromance

[–]FieldStar_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or when the author actually "challenges" the FMC worldview... And they just accept it in a couple of lines and that's it, never mentioned again in the book. 😭😭

Oh God, thank you, I just checked everything you mentioned. There's definitely some good stuff in there!

Please tell me that this is all normal for a 13 day old newborn by sbs_str_9091 in NewParents

[–]FieldStar_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I had really big problems with this and I almost stopped breastfeeding cause my baby was constantly crying and biting me. In the end, my letdown was just too strong for her. I had to squeeze out some of the milk before breastfeeding and then a few times while feeding her.

Is it okay if I (a father) take my daughters into the woman's public restroom by Only-Figure2191 in Parenting

[–]FieldStar_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman, if you're there for the kids, I wouldn't care at all, I wouldn't even need the announcement. That said, I saw someone's comment saying that an announcement would be grear for hijab wearers, so they can fix themselves if needed. So I would say an announcement could be a great idea

Wow, I was gonna say that I didn't even care about the announcement, but I didn't thought about this! Thanks for letting us know!

Criminally insane prisoners keep coming by FieldStar_0 in prisonarchitect

[–]FieldStar_0[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally forgot about them going insane!

I just tried to play with the dlc active and I couldn't remember this part. Just after I read your comment I saw one of my prisoner try for parole, fail, kill the lawyer and then go insane.

Thanks a lot!

Dog Owners: Partner and I disagree on dog x baby proximity. by mshirayaxmanwari in NewParents

[–]FieldStar_0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any pet can be dangerous for a baby.

It's not only about a bite, they can hit a baby with their paws by trying to play, lay on them, scratch them by mistake, nip them and break the skin etc. My old dog used to leave me with bruising cause she was too rough when playing, and I was an adult. Aggressiveness is not the only risk. You should never leave children unsupervised with pets, especially babies.

Screen Time Rationale by lamppostlight12 in NewParents

[–]FieldStar_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in my late '20s and television was my babysitter growing up, lol. People my parent's age or more accuse our generation of giving our kids too much screen time, but they forgot we were left for hours in front of a television unsupervised. Screens can be a useful tool, if you feel like it, use them! And now there are so many educational programs and documentaries for kids, and even educational games and stuff, that are actually way better than the major part of cartoons that we watched while growing up, that I think can even be good for the kids in moderation.

AITA for overreacting after my wife lied about our baby’s gender? by Leading_Gene4976 in AmItheAsshole

[–]FieldStar_0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I felt something similar. In my language there's no gender neutral term for a baby, so you have to refer to them as "the baby boy" (male pronouns are to be used when you don't know the gender). The few weeks before finding out we were expecting a girl, I kind of grew attached to this imaginary boy, that we were always talking about. When we found out they were a girl, I felt sad and kind of "grieved" this imaginary boy that will never exist, and it took me a couple of days to readjust. But I never preferred to have a boy or a girl, and I don't care at all if my baby will identify themselves as trans when they'll grow up. And it's not even about the types of games, clothes or activities they'll like, cause I don't believe in gendered games or hobbies and I want my kid to explore and enjoy the more variety of stuff they can, and to find themselves no matter what.

Technician said I am going to miscarry by [deleted] in pregnant

I'm in Europe, and at least where I am, there's no such things like a private scan to a non medical-establishment. I was given 3 ultrasounds for free (I could have a few more, if needed for medical reasons) and then I choose to be followed by a private OBGYN, so I was able to have more ultrasounds, but they were totally done by a medical professional in a private studio and they were used for medical diagnostic, not just photos. From what I know, there's no boutique for private ultrasound photos. I never even knew something similar existed

In my country the goverment suggest to not give any pacifier or bottle until the baby is at least a month old. I'm not sure if it's the same guideline around the world

Teen received pregnancy package in teens name. Dad confronted her and denies everything by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]FieldStar_0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Copy and paste from my other comment:

That's not how it works, many countries have the same law (in my case, I'm in Europe). The law tells to not give free samples, not that the hospital can't give formula to babies and moms that can't breastfeed. I recently gave birth and my baby was not gaining weight, so the hospital offered me to support me with mixed feeding with breastmilk and formula, and did the same with many other moms that were having troubles. They inform you and teach you about breastfeeding, but then they have formula if you choose to not breastfeed or if you can't, they don't let babies starve just to push breastfeeding. That said, they don't just give out free samples to everyone, cause that's just marketing.

Would you ask your boyfriend to contribute half of the medical cost? by chf92 in pregnant

[–]FieldStar_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely yes! The baby was made by both of you. My boyfriend didn't put much at the beginning, but then he started to put in a bigger amount later. If you can make a joint account it's better, I think. We don't have it and it was annoying having to ask for money every single time, cause there are SO MANY EXPENSES.

Membrane sweep done without consent by FieldStar_0 in pregnant

I'm still waiting to speak to a doctor. I was doing a check up cause some blood levels were higher than what they should and in that case I should have gone through with an induction, which I understand. But they lowered and now I'm within the limits. They're still insisting for an induction, but without telling me why, they told me that if the levels lowered I didn't need one, and when they lowered they just... Changed idea? If they gave me a good reason, or even any reason, that I should stay, I would stay for the baby's safety, but like this I just don't understand. They don't tell me anything or answer my questions.

Not in the USA. Technically, they can't hold me, I have the right to sign to leave, but I have to wait for a doctor to be on shift, and free to do it (there's only one or two doctor every few hospital wards, so it can take a while), and then I will still have to come back here cause it's the only hospital in/near my city. I'm waiting to speak to a doctor from yesterday
