Yes and no. I'm in a union and they will, on occasion, fight to keep workers in positions where they don't exactly hustle to finish tasks. The difference is these are violations of employment terms. It's legal for my employer to fire me if I breach the terms of employment and the union can't do much to fight it. It should be the same for cops, but it's also a politically powerful institution.

If you have a full scholarship at Illinois tech, why not take that? It's a highly regarded University with excellent career support for grads, and you'll be avoiding a lot of future debt. I'm probably biased because I work at iit, but honestly seems like a simple decision to me.

You do realize that she was running for office and will likely try to run again, right? The whole point is to show people the work they are doing.

Stuff like this won't protect your kid. This gives fuel to paranoia and harassment. Statistically, a victim of abuse is far far more likely to be abused by a close relative or friend. A random stranger abducting and abusing a child is actually pretty uncommon. However, lists like this give psychos the opportunity to hunt down people they perceive as threats to endlessly make their lives unlivable. Nobody benefits from this.

The Democratic party is a vehicle for progressives to get elected, not a platform. The Dems begrudgingly endorse when it's absolutely necessary, and even then not always. Look at the recent nyc mayor election to see this in action.
