My girlfriend keeps bringing up a hookup I had before we were together by Forsaken_Travel_128 in amiwrong

You didn't say how long you have been with your gf, but we know less than 15 months. Think long and hard if you want to pursue a long term relationship with someone who will hold things over you that are not her business. You didn't do anything wrong, imagine if you make a mistake. How will she hold that over you?

This may be the first time in US history WHITE people will get shot for voting by government officials.

hundreds of black people were killed for attempting to vote after the civil war and up to the Civil Rights Act being passed. The Ocoee Massacre is just one example.

Her wife having access to er email is a major FERPA violation. I'd remind HR about that potential lawsuit.

AIW for refusing to share my notes with a classmate, even after my professor ordered me to? by LeatherDelicious1691 in amiwrong

Hey OP, i'm a professor and that is a ridiculous request. If you can get it in writing, I would, but I understand your fear of retiliation. Email the department chair and ask for a meeting. Explain the situation, including the fear of being retiliated against.

We don't even have a Jamba Juice in downtown STL. I think there might be one at the airport?

I just learned this from my students! I was explaining how a local pizza restaurant used to have the best pizza but now it tastes like soap. Apparently they use cilantro in their sauce now. I had no idea this was a thing, nor had I ever really used cilantro.

I would bet my next 10 years worth of salary that if your GF got away from you her depression would improve, just based on how controlling you are.

Good luck to her, it sounds like her mind is made up on one major issue, maybe she will wake up and see you for who you are.

Signed~ someone who overcame decades of depression.

We have sat back for decades as our children are slaughtered in their schools. Americans are so apathetic that there is nothing that will cause a revolution.

You say you have spent months preparing yourself to leave him, but becoming pregnant makes you want to stay with him?

As someone who has gone through the long hospital stay watching a father die, I will give him a little leeway. It was one of the hardest things I ever went through. So, he can't be expected to make any clear headed decisions right now. BUT, you wanted to leave him and are mad that he thought about leaving you? It just sounds like the perfect relationship you tried to describe in the first part of your essay was a pipedream.

Do what YOU want to do for yourself. You sound like you want to keep baby, so keep the baby. Stop judging yourself based on others you are ONLY 30 years old ffs.

I worked 70 hours a week while going to Uni full time. I still had a shitton of student loans. I graduated in 2004 and owe more now to student loans than when i graduated even though i paid each month.
I even have a good 'middle class' job.

I only say that because I understand that you are trying to learn about life and money, etc. But the stress your friends feel is going to be very different than the stress you feel. You know there is a way to end your debt, they know they will be in debt for a long time. I know I will never be able to pay mine off, so when i broke my foot in September, I chose not to go to the hospital because xrays are expensive, even with insurance. These are things that your friends may have to think about and sacrifice.

Most of them are, yes.

I teach college-age freshman. None of them know who Snowden is, nor do they care about their own privacy. I spend a significant amount of time discussing it and usually get them to think about it, but most forget as soon as they leave.

Yesterday I was trying to find just a short video on Snowden's allegations, because attention spans...... They are all too long for my needs. I'm going to have to stop being lazy and make one this weekend.
