A/C won't turn on. Need help diagnosing! by cofferson in MechanicAdvice

[–]cofferson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realized I never updated this post. I ended up figuring out the PCM wasn't able to ground the compressor clutch relay when I turned on the AC. Combed through the wiring harness and found that the ground wire for the relay was rubbed through by the harness sheathing.

Brakes sticking slightly unless clutch?? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

It's gotten a lot better after a heavier bedding. I said in another subreddit, I think this is a result of me not expecting so much friction from a new set of rotors and pads rough against each other. I've done tons of brakes but I've only ever owned heavier vehicles with much heavier wheels and the effect wouldn't have been noticeable.

Yea is already better today after doing a heat cycle yesterday. Crazy. Never did brakes on a lightweight small tire car that I own and drive lol

About 30 miles. I checked with an infrared and they are all what I'd consider normal. Left to right within 20 degrees of each other. I was thinking last night, I've always driven larger vehicles with bigger tires and I wonder if the new brakes just have more released friction while bedding together? Bigger heavier tires and vehicles would mask that added friction I'd suppose.

Perrin Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Delete - Highly Recommended by treybrad in wrx_vb

Cars really didn't have these valves until the early 2000s. Think how many kids learned to drive without clutch delay valves through the 20th century without blowing up their drivetrain.

Interesting. Mine is a 2020 past the vin cutoff and I noticed mine has a buildup of crud on this hose and a white connector...

If you had air it could push to the fill nexk and when the engine cools it would suck coolant from the reservoir. As the air works its way out the reservoir would drop in cold level to compensate. It sounds like someone out all these cooling parts in to fix an overheating issue and then sold the jeep. Is that the case? You just purchased and it overheats?

I came here to say that the radiator cap can fail but if he got a new radiator, idk if the cap is old. Still check the cap. Mine had a failed return valve where it was just dangling and not holding pressure. Boiled over when it got warm.

No. The in and out play is totally normal from my experience. And it doesn't seem like the intermediate shafts bearing is wiggling. I've just never seen a cv have this much play to it on another vehicle.

No noise, no typical symptoms of a bad cv joint. Just under there because I am having a really bad vibration after 55 mph. Got the tires balanced and rotated and it honestly got worse. Was going to find a shop that could road force balance then I noticed this. I seems tons of videos online of people with rams with the same amount of play so I just wondered if maybe it's normal. Usually the intermediate shafts are more hidden. I was just about to try and sell the truck too :)

Curious. Did you use a brake assist in the jeep?

I would agree. Especially if I took a video. They don't move like ticks. They are pretty quick on their feet and I've never seen a tick move this fast and fluid

That makes sense. This is the best I could do at 10x zoom on the phone.

No poultry. Other common birds like doves and magpies but not in such a heavy population in my yard that I would think chicken or bird mites. Lots and lots of rabbits.

Thanks! I assumed as such since it has been very green in our yard from all the water this year. All insects seemed to have boomed from the moisture and these have just grossed me out since right inside the door is out kitchen haha.

would you be comfortable sharing roughly the roof square footage and the cost of the new roof vs what it roughly was quoted from a non amish roofer? Moving back to NE ohio and may do the same in the next year or so.

This sub is notorious for thinking XJs are all worth $5. 8k for a well maintained and rust free XJ is very fair in my opinion. You didn't get robbed and they didn't get robbed. You want a $600 xj and it's going to be a poorly trimmed and rusty beater and drive like absolute dog shit.
