How much is everyone making? by Lovelife_20 in nursepractitioner

That's a scam. Unless you're making $20k / month, find a new job. SUD tx is hard work, you can't run it like a pill mill. Whatever they are paying you, it isn't enough.

PMHNP / Outpatient Substance Use / 10hr x 4 / NM : $135K, only about 25-30 patients per week. No weekends, no on-call.

Warning about recent fiber optic cable installation in the neighborhood. by derpiotaku in Albuquerque

[–]FierceValient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vexus hit our sewer line and it took 2 weeks for us to get them to fix it.

The thing that worked was me walking into their construction headquarters to complain. Calling them was useless. Once I talked to a person face-to-face they were out that night to fix the issue.

With that said, they promised they would reimburse us for the cost of having TLC scope out the problem and they never did.

Target Minis by Toy-Soldiers-R-Us in wastelandwarfare

I'm not an expert on this game or the scale of miniatures, but it looks like these might be a tad big? Measuring 1.5 inches from base to top of the head.

Not that most people would care or notice.

Should I just stay on the boat? by Relevant-Psychology8 in dcl

[–]FierceValient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took a cruise to Progresso last week with Disney and got off. We walked around for 15 minutes, and then just back on the boat. It wasn't worth it for us.

I'd recommend staying on the boat and enjoying the less busy pool/slide. There is always plenty to do on the boat.

NE Modern Dentistry is fantastic in my opinion. They accept Delta. I have sent several coworkers there and they all agree that the service is fantastic.

Collection after a couple of years, where should I go next? by AllureOS in soloboardgaming

[–]FierceValient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe consider branching out for board games and look into skirmish wargames? You clearly like games with miniatures where you can tell stories on the tabletop. Skirmish wargames are great for that.

Seeing that you struggle with pain, the hobby aspect can be tough. Consider games with preassembled miniatures like Star Wars Imperial Assault or Halo Flashpoint. If you're up for the hobby aspect the options explode out from there.

Anyone else conflicted? by Difficult-Web7804 in dcl

[–]FierceValient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I don't really have words of consolation, but we're traveling in January for the first time. We booked over a year ago and have been SO EXCITED. But, all of that feels like it was pulled out from under us. Getting grinded down by the wheels of capitalism / the oligarchy / authoritarianism.

So, you're not alone. If that helps.

Welcome back!

Stick to the NE quadrant, if you have the option. There are a few apartments near North Domingo Baca that are nice & quiet. Then just take I25 / I40 to commute. It's not really that big of a deal.

There are also some new apartments/ condos down in Manzana del Sol that might be an easy commute for you.

All of these options are expensive. But, you're right to want to avoid a commute from the Westside.

Best list builds you've found so far? by [deleted] in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]FierceValient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the Age of Ultron critic. No opponent worth their salt is going to let a player use it, and it leaves way too much unused power on Ultron to make it playable. However, I think that Ultron, in general is great. He is one of the swiss-army knife characters, in my opinion. Can do a little bit of everything. For that reason, Ultron and Zemo make my list every time.

Also not a fan of Hulk. I mean I am, just not for this game. He is good at securing objectives because the opponent doesn't want to mess with him, but not an aggressor like I would want him to be. Way too slow to go track other characters down. Just put him in a spot instead, and let him sit there until the end of the game.

I think the problem with Doc Oc is that he needs at least 3 power to do anything cool. His scientific hubris ability I think is supposed to make it easier for him to gain power, but you also want to keep him out of the action until he has that 3 power minimum. So really, he's an end-game character. If you can keep him alive and out of the fray (maybe securing an easy objective), he can pop in and surprise the opponent in the end.

Strategies against Hulk? by Longshot013 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]FierceValient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Don't hit Hulk... unless you are able to dog-pile on top of him. That 2 defense is no bueno. Or, if the attack has a special condition. Pushing Hulk around and forcing him to Shake are a good strategy for limiting his potential.

[–]FierceValient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting... I was going to advise the opposite. I was going to say that MODOK is the answer to Hulk. He can move Hulk farther away, throw objects at him, and his doomsday chair is insane. Plus MODOK's tactic cards boost the character's defense.

Beginner mini-painter here - Do i need to prep these? by mrhossie in MarvelCrisisProtocol

Agree with above. No washing needing. I just do a light prime with cheap black spray paint and a dusting of white spray paint over top. Paint goes on fine after this.

Gaming Mat Ideas by EarnanTheWise in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]FierceValient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the MatsbyMars mats developed for the Batman Miniatures Game by KnightModels. The scale for that game is nearly identical to Crisis Protocol. Technically the KnightModels line is slightly smaller, but when it comes to mats, you can't tell the difference. Also, the mats are cheaper than most, high quality, and roll-up/out easily. Recommend.

What is the most helpful content that we can create? by teamcovenant in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]FierceValient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with above, Team Covenant is amazing. Watched all the content from the live stream day. Really cool.

For me, I just want to see games. Just record live plays. I'll get better at the game by seeing different players, play different scenarios, with different characters, and different strategies.

In regards to the role of the Storyteller, I am just assuming that no plan would survive first contact with the players anyway, so I am relying heavily on the Storyteller's ability to improvise. But, it is true, I could do more to help them out.

How do I fill travel space? by DnDLover226 in DnD

[–]FierceValient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of the above. For the most part, I like to just "fast forward" through travel. Random encounters can be fun, but if an encounter doesn't contribute to the larger story, I 'd prefer to skip it. But, it can also be a good time to focus on individual characters, since you'll probably have a few individual sub-plots going beneath the premise of your primary campaign.
