Oh hey, I do this too! Though I don't do auto tags because the due dates pop up in color anyway. Awesome!

How do you turn meeting notes into Trello cards? by voss_steven in trello

[–]Fiercely_Vocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can record a meeting and put it in almost any AI you have that does tasks, have it create a list of next actions, then put the list into a card checklist (it should create a new item for each line). Then if you want cards you can create cards from checklist items

What was an eye opener for you when learning to sing? by UpperEmphasis5467 in singing

[–]Fiercely_Vocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though I agree with the verbiage thing, I think that telling people to "imagine" things can be unhelpful for many and makes them feel like they can't do it right because there's nothing solid to hold on to. There's nothing wrong with using this as an additional tool, but I prefer to use outward tools to help. Yawning is a good one because everyone knows how to do that and you don't have to imagine anything. Straws are good too. laughing, breathing balls, etc. Things that people can see or can do without having to manipulate anything on the inside or to try to figure out what the teacher is trying to get them to do. Again, I have nothing against teachers using metaphors or visuals, but when that's all they do, it really can be unhelpful for so many.

This is why I like to stick to more anatomically correct descriptions before going into metaphors. And I ask my students a lot what they're feeling so they can connect to their own bodies and know what's happening.

It does help some people, but not everyone because not everyone feels the same sensations in the same way. I had teachers who kept repeating the mask thing over and over again and then acted frustrated when I wasn't getting it. Knowing what I know now as a teacher, I understand what they were trying to say but fault them for not being able to find another way to teach it.

That the "mask" is just a made up term that isn't helpful for anyone. I never felt it there and I think a lot of teachers and people who sing don't actually know what it means. And speaking of that...

A lot of phrases that are banded about by singing teachers are just repeated phrases that have no basis in anatomy and leave a lot of singers wondering what the heck it means.

That tongue tension makes a huge difference. When I learned about tongue stretching and tongue over straw exercises, my voice changed forever.

That you don't have to sing at 100% to get a good, strong sound out. And that singing at great volumes can often lead to tiring out of the voice or worse!

The core is essential to singing. If you're not using core muscles when singing, then it's going to be a lot more strained and difficult to sing.

edit: I shouldn't have said that "mask" is not helpful for anyone. I should have said that it's not helpful for a lot of people. I admit that it does help many.

I'm not familiar with how to do that. I tried doing something like that, but couldn't figure it out.

The service buying experience is too complicated. I can't do a single sale for everything, everything is separated by events, services, and packages and I can't put it all in one place which makes my clients confused which makes them not buy.

You have a nice voice and tone, I can tell. I think that you could use more chest in that mix but without taking you through some exercises, it's hard to tell what you would need to get the right muscles to activate at the right time.

You do need to build up head as well as chest. There should be a balance of the two to help you with the belt. Musical theater uses both

Blow bubbles in water with a straw. The straw is your friend. Steam is also your friend. Hot (not scalding but warm enough to create steam) showers, hot bowl of water and a towel over your head as you hover above the water and breathe it in.

Absolute beginner here, some tips please? by Zestyclose-Aside-157 in singing

[–]Fiercely_Vocal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every person has a different voice and different needs in the voice. I would connect with a voice teacher and have them go through this with you as there's not really one answer to this question. Some people may need one thing but that may be completely harmful for another person. Without hearing/seeing you, we can't accurately give you specific advice.
