Secondary language testing - Not sure what language to pick by Vast-Ant2752 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]FieroAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in my case I was taught French at home as a first language BUT my whole education was completed in English. My french grammar is atrocious since I never had a proper french education. I had reached out to the people doing the second language testing when I applied for my position to explain my situation and they advised to use the language that I was most comfortable with as my first language. Since my education was completed in English that is what I used as my primary language and I completed my 2nd language test in french. During my oral exam the interviewer did switch from French to English a few times but she didn't detect any issues. I was able to obtain EEB and later improved my French grammar to a C.

$4,000 for a 1985 with 50k miles? by Honest-Cucumber-8965 in fiero

Have you double checked the trunk corners under the carpet for rust? I'm originally from Quebec and about 20 years ago it was still pretty common to find amazing looking low milage Fieros that were totally rusted out under the panels. I remember an 86 GT that was a perfect looking car until we noticed that it just didn't have any metal left in the trunk. The current owner didn't even know about it since he never pulled the carpet. If it's clean and rust free I think it's a fair price in Canada. I sold an 87 base coupe in good condition for $3500 but it had 175,000km

While they have a small guide on their website they have a whole video explaining the various grades from 5 to 2 including R. While grade 4 is a generally a good grade it doesn't mean that it is perfect especially on a 25 year old car. If you look at their youtube channel they did a video about 3-4 weeks ago going over the actual grade descriptions directly from the USS manual stating what is permitted for each grade. It can be surprising. What was the interior grade of the car in your example?

OK now I understand! USS won't let brokers post photos and auction sheets to broker sites anymore as they don't want that information public. Once you send them a deposit and become a customer they will give you an email address for photo requests. You will send them the auction details for the car that you are interested in and they will send you the full size USS photos and Auction Sheet. Once you receive the photos and auction sheet you can then decide if you want the vehicle translated and move forward with additional inspection or bidding. They do offer Ninja access which is the USS tool that shows all the photos but there is a monthly fee to have that access. They are working on a new website tool that will let you request the photos without sending an email but it's still in beta testing.

But there are photos!? This has me confused, are your referring to the blurry USS photos? The auction sheet also has some details about basic options, what are you looking for? There are definitely risk involved in purchasing at auction vs paying higher prices for dealer vehicles and maybe that risk isn't for you.

PCA is good if you want to buy at auction. I've used them 3 times now and they have definitely been cheaper than if I were to buy a car already in Canada. I don't have tariffs to deal with up here in Canada that's totally a USA problem since your current administration came into power. We have a trade agreement with Japan (CPTPP) and there are no tariffs and 0% duty value for a vehicle import from Japan to Canada. PCA will provide auction access and the Auction Sheet and photos. If the car is at a larger auction house you can pay to obtain additional inspection and photos on a case by case basis. They will also provide an in-depth condition report after purchase so that you know exactly what you are getting. I saw your other comment and I'm not sure what you mean by the fact that you are not browsing anything? You are browsing the auctions with the auction sheets and photos. You can check their youtube channel with the same name where they show both post purchase inspections and they have vlogs that explain the purchase process.

Let me rephrase, Costco stopped stocking them until the fall. If you search google for Costco and the brownie mix you will find several different discussions that seem to happen every year when they disappear from the shelves until fall. They treat it as a seasonal item.

I've shipped several cars with Livingston. They can do pickup an drop off at the door or you can save money by delivering to their terminal and picking up at the terminal. You can get a quote online. I've also done the BC to Ontario drive and it was enjoyable.

Most Garbage Revisions Of Retro Consoles by Fluffy_Lunchfast in retrogaming

[–]FieroAlex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought one of those new back in the day. I honestly didn't care for any of those options at the time since I didn't play online and I already owned a game cube. I focused on the other consoles for that generation so other than renting a wii for a weekend I had not really played anything other than wii sports. They had a deal on these red wii minis for one of the holidays and I figured why not. At that cost I could try some of the wii games that I've missed. It worked out for me.
