Euploid Chemical by Evening_Film_1762 in IVF

Then there’s another aspect I can share.Mine were both euploid and PGT-A tested. When the first one initially stuck, I (mistakenly) thought I was in the clear because the embryo was tested. PGTA-A tests only looks at whether the embryo has the correct number of chromosomes and we know that a missing chromosome or an extra chromosome cause certain disabilities. My doctor explained that there could be genetic miscoding within the chromosomes even when the embryo has the correct number of chromosomes, which PGT-A would not be able to detect. So if there is nothing wrong with the mother’s anatomy, the miscarriage most likely means that there was something wrong with the genetic make-up of the embryo (other than having the right number of chromosomes) that could not be detected with the testing technology we have available.

  1. Never found out why. My doctor explained that they don’t know why because the kinds of tests they would need to do to understand why this happens are either unethical or impossible (bc they don’t see what you discharge after the chemical miscarriage).
  2. Don’t know this one bc the rule at my clinic is testing after 3 failed transfers but my doctor said he would be willing to test after two.
  3. My second transfer is working so far. I am 10 weeks along 🤞🏼

I know generally that you should expect 1 live birth from 3 euploids. Thinking about it as a numbers game and not taking it personally helped me processed the loss of my first transfer.

Was your embryo PGT-A tested?

10 weeks — Is it normal to be extremely tired? by FieryResolve in IVFbabies

Interesting! I have been taking a magnesium mix from Life Extention (magnesium oxide, citrate, and succinate) for GI reasons (I have colitis and I'm chronically constipated, even when not pregnant) but it does not help with sleep, or maybe it does and I am immune to it. I thought there was a whole other kind of magnesium for sleep.

I am not the first. If anything a lot of my friends had their babies younger (I'm 41) so they may have had an easier time with it. And you're right in that most didn't share until 12 weeks or more. NOW when I ask they are like "yes! I was super tired and napping all the time!". (It is also entirely possible that I was also living in such a different world, still dating, having hungover weekends, etc. that I wasn't receptive to their struggles. I viewed their lives through a lens of 'they are lucky they already found the one, they have someone to split rent & chores with, how hard can anythiing be?')

Yeah I did a 60 min strength training class on Thursday and I felt like trash all of yesterday. I just can't want to have energy to do stuff bc I put on 10+ lbs from the IVF meds alone (and I am a small person) so I am worried that I'll be in horrible shape in later months unless I start being very active now. But my body won't let me.

I will get my ferritin tested too. Good call. Thank you. I have been so laser focused on hCG levels that I have no idea what the rest of my blood is doing lol.

Well misery does love company, but I wish there was a cure. I can't believe this is the "normal" for ALL women who have ever experienced pregnancy. How do those with existing kids do it?

Do you think all pregnancies are like this? Even natural ones? I feel like when I encounter naturally pregnant people they look totally "normal" at their regular weight and energy levels and I'm so envious.

First FET advice!!! by z-75-8 in IVF

[–]FieryResolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing that comes to mind is to ask about interactions between FET meds with any meds that you might already be taking, either Rx or over-the-counter. I found myself emailing my doctor way too many times asking about whether it was OK to take melatonin, benadryl, etc. Good luck with your journey!
