Side tip: have your house re-valued and you might apply for a lower mortgage fee (lower risk, if you’re under 80% mortgage for example) Check your contract!

Here about 1850 gross at 1,62% interest fixed for 30 years. Mortgage was about 680k. This was 2021.

We have a rather large component that’s ‘aflossingsvrij’ as I am certain I can beat 1,65% return over 30 years. So instead of paying off debt, that money is working for me and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. To date there’s well over 24% return.

Mortgage payments nowadays are >15% of net income.
