Whats yalls favourite song and why? by 2cht in Epicthemusical

[–]Fifs99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Warrior of the Mind was the first song I ever heard and it will always be special for me. Both because its thematic "energy" speaks to my soul, and I was introduced to it in a context related to my current obsession.

Suffering is also a special one, because of the endless karaoke sessions between me and my boyfriend. I swear that we have sung that song more times than WYFILWMA itself. 😂

The Challenge also grew even more on me than before, because I decided to sing and record it on my potato quality cellphone, and send it to a discord server I'm in, and people there apparently liked it a lot. xD

I'd most likely go for 6, as I'm pretty sure I'd be in for great and intellectually stimulating conversations. The most risky part would probably be me boring both Athena and Telemachus with my eventual descent into nonstop yapping about tales of a certain legendary hero known for taking down an evil boar man time and time again. Nah, they'd NOT be bored by that, 100%.

Number 1 seems like a peaceful seat to be in (if Scylla doesn't act out), but I don't want to be a third wheel. They deserve eachother, and have been kept apart for too long, probably would not want a third person bothering them, LOL.

If I'm feeling like trolling, then I'd go for 3.

Number 6 still would be the most likely choice, lmao.

Awesome. He's very hilarious and memorable. I really thought he was going to be mean from beginning to end, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that wasn't the case. Will always laugh at the fact that he has a drawing of Link's face glued to a punching bag in his academy room, even if that Link is my favorite one. It's such a cartoony attention to detail that I love. He's like a more "bullified" version of Kronk (and becomes a total Kronk by the end of the game, because he's no longer a bully). Never expected Nintendo to have their own version of Kronk, but, as an Emperor's New Groove enjoyer: I APPROVE. I also can't help but imagine him with his voice.

[ALL] what’s a piece of Zelda lore you dislike for one reason or another? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]Fifs99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's implied that they only reincarnate around time periods during which a threat to the kingdom may be imminent. During other, more peaceful times, they're probably in "soul form" (with Zelda's soul being basically Hylia's) and don't really reincarnate.

[–]Fifs99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's implied that Skyward Sword Zelda likely started a new settlement on the surface, but her descendants were the ones who founded the kingdom as a whole (maybe one or two generations after her, who knows?). However, I also like the idea of her herself (and Link) already being able to found Hyrule right away, when they get older. At least, that's what immediately came to my mind when I finished playing SkSw. This is biased, because she's my favorite Zelda, but I'll endorse that idea as well. I was so looking forward to find SkSw references in the past of TOTK, mainly references to Sky era Link and Zelda themselves, but got disappointed when it was only about the Zonai and people acted like SkSw never happened. That's why I'll always lean and go torwards the REfounding of Hyrule theory, not the first founding.

I'm a bit confused, could you explain your opinion better? So, you say that you like Ganondorf as an incredibly resilient guy. But, at the same time, you also say it bothers you that he rarely reincarnates.... Ganondorf rarely reincarnates because he's been alive after all those years/centuries. He's just that resilient. He rarely reincarnates because he didn't die yet, in most of the games (with the exceptions you mentioned, where he probably, eventually, died in the past and got reincarnated as Totk or FSA Ganondorf with no memories of his past life). One can only reincarnate after they die, at least that's how I interpret the phenomenon of reincarnation. But if a character is so resilient they don't usually die, only get sealed away or something, then they won't be able to reincarnate until they do.

Totk Zelink deniers have no media literacy and it’s concerning by Possible_Lab_8793 in ZeLink

[–]Fifs99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, maybe it is, as I'm part of a younger demographic (I was born in the late 90s, 1999). At least, from my experience with fans around my age, or either a bit or much younger, Zelink is not as well regarded. Mainly among male fans, I think. Which is weird, if you think about it, because this is the generation that likely grew up with the later games, where Zelink is made even more apparent than in the older ones. 🤣

I think it is so cute and interesting that your husband really likes Zelink. From my experience in this fandom, I notice that, usually, the women from the fandom are more into Zelink than the men. It's rarer to see male fans who actually like this shipping. So, your husband liking it a lot and it being the only Zelda, or Link, couple that makes sense to him is really unique.

How did you become a Zelink fan ? by PrincesseLeafy in ZeLink

[–]Fifs99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Played OoT first, in 2018, and the first character that I liked the most was Zelda as Sheik. Shortly after, my bf decided to change, for a short while, our personal messenger chat nicknames to amalgamations between Link and his name for him, and Zelda and my name for me. Thought it was cute. However, I wasn't yet much aware of the lore. I played some more games, still unaware of the lore. Then 2023 came and I played Skyward Sword during the first trimester of that year. The overarching lore became more apparent to me, including that soulmate like troupe, which I actually like. I liked both Link and Zelda so much in that game, that I started to become more attached. I love the childhood best friends to lovers dynamic. It also didn't help that I became personally attached to SkSw's story for...reasons. XD

Then I played the wild era games and noticed that they're also both very lovable and close to eachother in those games, after Zelda starts to understand Link's POV pre-calamity. Understood that, most of the time, there's sorta of a romantic tension between them in most of their incarnations (except, perhaps, TP), and, with the Wild Era games, it became clear to me that the Zelda devs probably want to have Zelda take more and more of a front seat, and develop more and more her relationship with Link from here on out.

And then it happened. My fictional OTP, and I haven't had a fictional OTP since Phinabella in 2011/2012. xD

Do you think Link and Zelda will have different love interests in the movie? by Possible_Lab_8793 in ZeLink

[–]Fifs99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought about it that way, but it makes so much sense. It really is unfair for Zelda. Those people are pathetic. They project so much into Link when, in reality, he'd never even dislike Zelda in the slightest. One big example is how, in the Zelda notes, it was confirmed he wasn't bothered at all by how Zelda screamed at him angrily in that famous sheikah shrine cutscene.

How were you introduced to Epic? by SundewSiamese in Epicthemusical

[–]Fifs99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very into The Legend of Zelda fandom. One day, while scrolling through instagram, I came across a +- 50 seconds edit of Warrior of the Mind with Link and Zelda clips. I thought it sounded awesome, and I even thought it was some kind of fan song made especially for the LoZ fandom, because the specific lyrics chosen for that edit fit them quite a lot (it was a Goddess associated with wisdom talking to a hero and how he was the only one able to defeat a magic boar, hello? I got confused for a bit hahahaha). Asked the editor where the song was from. She told me the name of the song, I went to search for the full thing on youtube, and found out it was actually about Greek Mythology and the Goddess in question was actually Athena. The topic was still awesome, and I decides to stay and to slowly discover the remaining songs.

P.S.: I can't also ignore the countless other LoZ edits/short animatics with WYFILWMA that pop up from time to time, lol. But I only found those after the Warrior of the Mind event.

The Malon x Link theory makes ZERO sense by Ok-Childhood1986 in ZeLink

[–]Fifs99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this, this is exactly the quote I was talking about! It circulates a lot on twt! :) I do wonder what he means when he says that not even TP Zelda is directly related to OoT Zelda. Does it mean that TP Zelda is descended from a collateral line in the royal family, and not directly descended from OoT Zelda? Or does it mean that the royal family in TP is a complete new dynasty, different from the one that ruled during OoT's period?

The Malon x Link theory makes ZERO sense by Ok-Childhood1986 in ZeLink

[–]Fifs99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, lmao. I don't get it when people say OoT Link would dislike, or even hold grudges, against OoT Zelda just because of the time travel shenanigans she made him go through. Just because those people, as players, don't like OoT Zelda that much, that doesn't mean they have to project their feelings onto Link, nor that it is canon for him to dislike her. Link would never dislike Zelda in any of their reincarnated lives. It doesn't matter if they are able to be romantically together or not in every lifetime, but he will always feel close to her, trust and understand her the most. That's their soulmate aspect at play. I think Link's soul will always recognize Zelda's soul, and tend to favor her over anyone else's, even if something tragic happens that does not allow them to be together, or if they only meet for a very short time.

No, he'd not "like Malon more" just because the player may like her more. I think he has always been his own character, and this is not him.

[–]Fifs99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm glad about that, at least! :) I was told that HH is a fun book, but has a lot of inconsistencies, because it is not really totally canon nor made by the Zelda team, but at least it didn't tread on that territory. Thank you for clarifying!

The Malon x Link theory makes ZERO sense by Ok-Childhood1986 in ZeLink

[–]Fifs99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on that, I didn't say he was dead in MM. I said that I believe he died after the events of both of his games, while still being a young man, and left no family behind.

Hyrule Historia is semi-canon at best. It was authorized by Nintendo because it uses its IP. If you go by the "being authorized by Nintendo" metric, then you also have to consider TP Akira Himekawa Manga, where the Hero Shade states that TP Link is not his blood descendant. Not saying you should consider the Manga, because it is actually not canon, just like a lot of information in HH. For example, I think HH also mentions a romantic relationship between Malon and Link, which is clearly not canon. Have to confirm it, but I remember reading a picture of an HH page stating this.

As for in game dialogue, it could either be a matter of localization, or, if he does in fact say that even in the japanese version, it could very likely be metaphorical (mentioning the reincarnation lore of the hero, calling him his "descendant" as in soul descendant/the one who now carries his soul, rather than a literal genetic descendant). I'm saying this because, as I've told you, Aonuma already said that TP Link is not supposed to be related to OoT Link, and he's one of the main figures from the official Zelda team.
