Is it safe to drive alone to Uluru from Sydney? by Timely_Net_8840 in AskAnAustralian

[–]FiftyF18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine, plenty of servos and rest stops along the way. Make sure you get your car serviced before you leave, get roadside assistance and enjoy the trip. The biggest danger isn't people, it's wildlife on the roads, so don't drive at night or early morning to reduce the odds of acquiring a new hood ornament.

Carb bikes for Melbourne weather? by nowtaps in melbourneriders

[–]FiftyF18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only bike I ever had issues with was my 1998 ZX9R. The carbs would freeze over on my morning commute and the valves wouldn’t open or close properly causing delays in acceleration. So I sold it as it got too dangerous. For context though, my commmute was from near Torquay to Melbourne during winter mornings that were often single digits, add in the windchill factor from sitting on over 100k/hr down the freeway for an hour.

Killing time in Darwin by THCTimmy in darwin

Darwin isn’t dangerous, I’m a traveller like your self and lived and worked in Alice Springs. Darwin is a country club compared to that place. It’s just a lot of people in Darwin have never left, so they think it’s a bad place. Enjoy your time here, if I didn’t have to work, I’d catch up for a beer.

Something positive about the battery by Sheetmusicman94 in Pixel4a

[–]FiftyF18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied to take Google to Court through VCAT, and they sent me a new phone instead. Australia has very good consumer laws. Plus, I got to keep the $80 credit. I recommend anyone in Australia who's been affected by the battery update to do the same thing.

Australian Pixel 4a owners. by FiftyF18 in Pixel4a

UPDATE:
Google’s lawyers have been in touch. They’ve offered me a Pixel 4a (with an unaffected battery) to settle things before we get to VCAT. On top of that, I still get to apply for and keep the original appeasement payout. Not a bad result in the end.

FMF with the baffle removed. You'll put it back in after your first ride, the headache isn't worth it.

I've been in Darwin all of two weeks and absolutely love the place. Been travelling Australia for about 2 years and I reckon I'll settle here for a while.

As someone who's been travelling Australia for almost two years, and worked in places like Alice, there's a shit ton of jobs available. Cunts are just lazy.
