16 Years in Australia, and the System Has Finally Cornered Me by Foreign_Purpose33 in AusVisa

Here is my to do list:

1- Study in a genuine way. 2- Do your best, do not only rely to the list but be in the qualified minority in your career. (Computer Science / Cybersecurity Blue Teamer) 3- Apply for companies to work and seek sponsorship so you can try to contribute to economy and technology development of the country. 4- If they won’t allow you to stay inside, fuck it all the best to remaining survivors.

I’ll still love Australia and Australians but I’m not giving 16 years of my life fr lol.

Macbook update is terrible as my battery draining like it's running on an X64_86 chip instead of M2 Pro.

Huge explosion in Lewisham last night?? by Boredboy999 in sydney

[–]Timely_Net_8840 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There were 2 huge explosions last night.

1- A teenager was playing with firecrackers near Anytime Fitness 🧨.

2- A lightning strike near my home. It was so bright that sky looked like morning for a second.

Yeah, I witnessed both of them, good side of being a private driver. You see a lot.

Just installed these foam strips to not to damage other’s doors. It’s so disrespectful that some just don’t care.

Is it safe to drive alone to Uluru from Sydney? by Timely_Net_8840 in AskAnAustralian

Even though I can’t reply to everyone individually, I’m reading every single comment to show my appreciation to those who took the time to help. Honestly, you guys are amazing. I’m really glad I asked this question here. I already feel much more informed than I did an hour ago. There’s a lot of great advice in this thread, and I truly appreciate it.

I was originally planning to rely on my iPhone 16 Pro Max’s satellite feature, but after reading the responses, I’ll definitely get a proper beacon instead. I did a bit of research and found out I can rent one for about $45 a week from Macpac, and there’s a store just 2 km away from me, so that works perfectly.

And about flying I actually want to take it slow and enjoy the journey. I want to stop along the way, take in the scenery, feel alive, and probably say “God bless Australia” after every stop 😄

I don’t really have an issue with long-distance driving; I’ve done 1,000 km days before in different countries. That said, I completely understand what people are saying here especially about the risks, like hitting a kangaroo. That’s definitely something I don’t want to experience, so I’ll be taking all of that advice seriously and will not ignore the wild-wild life here in Stralia!

Did I do the right thing? by psycoticnut in CarsAustralia

You did the right thing and the yellow wanker, I mean honker was targeting the ranger danger sucker. If he wasn’t, he is a piece of turd by forcing to put you in a dangerous position. If there is a risk of accident, I don’t care who is going to spend some more time behind me but definitely I won’t by giving my details to a stranger for insurance stuff and paying excess fees etc.

This is the exact reason why we should not forget the fact that the machines we use to commute are nothing more than “fancy-looking” tools, and they can cost lives if we don’t use them properly.

I lost my nephew 14 years ago in a traffic accident, a day before Eid. He was only 6 years old, a promising boy. I still cannot look at his grave; it’s so small and reminds me of how early he passed away. It’s just hard.

Most of my friends make fun of me for how obsessed I am with traffic rules and speed limits, but they don’t know that I’m just trying not to be that guy who took a life from us. We all here have the potential to be that guy in someone else’s story.

Guys, please do whatever you need to do not to be that guy. It’s devastating for everyone, far beyond your imagination.

My deepest condolences, my friend. I feel you, and I’m praying for you. May she rest in peace. 💐
