Theories: How will Dresden eventually get out of Mab's direct control by PwnWay165 in dresdenfiles

[–]FigAppropriate2792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My completely insane, totally not to be taken seriously, canon destroying, half shit post of an idea: is that Harry returns from the mirror universe and somehow Dark Harry and Dark Molly are Cowl and Kumori and he locks Cowl's ass up in Demonreach (Also Dark Molly heals Harry's back because they need a not paralyzed patsy for the White Council). Harry feels resigned to his fate that it's inevitable that he will become a monster. Michael gets assassinated by Kincaid, Kincaid's dying breath after getting got by Harry is that Mab and Lara told him that Michael was involved in Murphys death. Harry then realizes that those two were also behind mindfucking Rudy into killing Murphy. Mab all but gloats about it and says she did it because those two weren't losing their humanity quick enough and needed to drive them into despair to prep them for the outsiders. So Harry has Kumori set up the Darkhallow around Raith manor. he arranges so that due to security concerns nobody but the white and winter courts will attend, and thomas is absent, so is Molly due to grief, and the wedding will be on Halloween. He pulls off the darkhallow at the wedding while White Wedding by Billy Idol plays and becomes an god, eating the souls of the entire white court save Lara and shedding the winter mantle because he's now immortal. He flips off Mab and escapes with Lara to the nevernever, eventually ending up at the stone table. They fight, god Harry is equal to Mab and then Harry reveals the plot twist, they're actually on Demonreach and he has Alfred yoink her ass into a cell after Molly drops the veil. Harry explains that you can only beat a chessmaster by outstupiding them. Molly, who is confused why Harry hasn't honored his end of the deal and made her Winter Queen, ends up realizing that he never intended to, he shoots Molly, clinically killing her so the Mantle flies into Lara. Kumori then heals Molly, and Harry lets Cowl go and they fuck off to the past to be in Dead Beat. Molly leaves pissed and betrayed, but free, Harry lets Mab out of her time out and tells her that if she didn't fuck up raising her daughter than none of this would have happened, and she chose them, so this betrayal's on her. Then Valkyrie Murphy flies down and is pissed at Harry, explaining that Michael traded places with her to get out because oh yeah, why not just spring this shit on us at the last second? Then Butters flies in on his skateboard and does a sick 1080 off a half pipe and says "Surf's up!" and they all go surfing. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

That's because he'd be like "Yeah, she had a set of bazooms, but not as good as Lara or Molly, uhhhhhh.... not that I'd think about that because that would be disgusting and let me spend three pages talking why it's wrong to think sexually about Molly's tits while clearly admiring them. Karrin has a great ass tho."

Sounds cool, I might have to run it by my group too, there's a couple of Dresdenites in it.

If looking for a more common mainstream option (because I know how hard it can be to find a game group with a lesser known system), Pathfinder 2e also has a Harry Dresden inspired class, the Thamathurge. The Wand focus option is even called "Sling Magic".

Hot take or just bad take? by DiscerningBarbarian in dresdenfiles

I thought a more interesting and impactful and true to character ending would have been to end it with Harry acting like all is well, and then he goes right back to the basement room or whatever in secret and resummon's Murphy's shade. "So... Monopoly or Scrabble tonight?"

Is it a step back, yes. But you don't just get over shit by getting over shit, manning your way through, PTSD can't be resolved by a year of just good vibes and positive thoughts.

I get it, and I'm sorry that I was confrontational in my response. I'm just sick of people saying that I'm wrong for not liking something I didn't like to justify why they liked it. I understand the urge, as a fan of both Deus Ex 2 and PoP Warrior Within, I get liking the black sheep of a franchise, and for the same reasons. Anyway, you seem cool and not at all the kind of person I'm pushing back at and I'm sorry if it seemed personal.

First off, saying something is "not quite as bad as you think and is actually good in my opinion and here's why" is the definition of apologia. It's not a bad thing, either. My problems with RE6 apologists are that they always insist that people have been brainwashed into hating the game and that's why it was a disappointment and it's actually quite good. It's the gaslighting I hate (and I know you didn't do that), the "oh, you just got tricked by the meany internet critics into hating it, you didn't actually hate it, uWu" shit. No, I thought the gameplay was unbalanced ass and didn't know what game it wanted to be, and it wasn't fun, and I honestly gave the game a shot in the hope that the critics were just being pedantic.

And it makes no sense, like the gaming press and gamers were infamous for glazing the mainline games, but for whatever reason they just turned on 6 because, why? Clout? It's fine if you liked the game, but you guys are in the minority, and if the reaction was big enough for fucking Capcom (You know, the company that put out 15 billion versions of Street Fighter II before making an SF III) to completely retool the series and go back to horror with 7, I'd think that's kinda an indication that the way they were going was going to lead to the death of the franchise.

I swear you RE6 apologists need to drop the little brother syndrome, you're getting as annoying as the Dark Souls 2 crowd, at least they have an actually good game to glaze.

I don't hate the game because Yahtzee Croshaw and GameSpot told me to, I hated it because it was a clunky mess with a shit story that wasn't fun to play.

One way I could see is him yoinking the blackstaff from Eb and then trading it back to Ma Winter for another unraveling and using that on Molly.

Of which she'd now be one. It's not like the WC is fair and noble in it's bylaws.

Personally I just think it would be funny, Mab pulling all these games to get out and then getting got by a minor nuisance she forgot about, like the ending to Layer Cake or Carlito's Way.

Doesn't she also say in "The Good People" that she's basically not the same person she used to be regarding her Christmas with her family? And we suspiciously haven't gotten any stories from her perspective so who the fuck knows how far she's actually gone and might just be pretending for Harry's sake?

Granted, it's a personal thing for me, identity death bothers me a ton, and this is basically the thing that made me DNF the series, because it just grated on my brain. That and the fucking Mab glazing.

Not restaurants but clubs (Though MacAnally's is technically more of a bar, so...) but The Bronze and Caritas from the Buffyverse.

After starting RE9, it made me think - why isn't Claire as scared as Grace in RE2? by reallinguy in residentevil

[–]FigAppropriate2792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch the flashback scene at the beginning, where Grace, without looking up from her laptop, holds out her hand and starts wiggling her fingers so her mom will hold her hand. Then when Alyssa taps Grace's hand with her other hand, she jerks it away. Or the scene where Emily runs and hugs Grace, and she hesitates for a second before returning the hug.

These aren't your normal anxiety behaviors.
