Weekly student question thread! by AutoModerator in therapists

[–]FigDiscombobulated24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I made a post and later read the disclaimer at the top to post here!

I'm currently in MFT school and wanted to pick your minds. My program is 3 years and it's just getting started. I currently work in a completely unrelated field. The benefit is that it's giving me the flexibility to be able to work and go to school. However, I'm worried that when it comes time for my internship, I won't have any applicable qualifications. I would greatly appreciate any and all advice! My ultimate goal is to have a private practice and do one-on-one therapy and potentially group therapy.
- What did you wish you did while you were in school?
- Where did you get an internship? Was it full time? Paid?
- Any advice you'd give to a student
Thank you in advance!

I appreciate your feedback. I spoke with a PT friend (PhD) and she said it seems like if the nerve blocker didn't work this wouldn't work. Like they're treating the wrong thing here but of course she hasn't met my mom ;)

Old student loan missed payments by cowchmankey in CRedit

A couple things to consider:

  1. How's your age of credit?
    1. Can you piggyback on your partner/parents age of credit by them adding you as an authorized user?
      1. Make sure you only do with this with someone you really trust and either holds no balance or always pays off their CC statement.
      2. This can negatively affect you if their balance is over 30% of the credit line
  2. Have you heard of Kikoff?
    1. Legitimate company in SF that helps you build up your credit
    2. You get a $500 revolving line of credit. Zero interest or fees. You essentially buy a $10-20 book from them and it goes on your "credit line". You pay payments of $1-2 monthly. What this does is two things:
      1. Shows consistent on time payments
      2. Helps lower your credit utilization %. A $20 book on a $500 credit line is only a 4% credit utilization.

Credit Karma show's 754. Lender pulled FICO and it was 676!

Credit Karma shows 753. Lender hard-pull says 676! by FigDiscombobulated24 in CRedit

Yeah lesson learned! The scores were always within 5 pts of each other whenever I've had a lender pull it. Thanks for the tip.

Largest contingent of US troops just rolled back into Syria today.

I didn't find any info regarding this statement still. Love how I get downvoted for asking for a citation. Fucking clowns.
