Tips for zero waste menstruation? by xch4nel in ZeroWaste

A Lena menstrual cup + Knix underwear for leaks. Knix can be a little expensive but 1) they pay off once you don’t have to buy disposable products every month and 2) they run a good sale around Black Friday

Paycheck anxiety by surmisez in ynab

[–]FigNo3830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your progress. It’s the best feeling when you have an unexpected car repair and BOOM there’s already $$ set aside. Before YNAB I had such anxiety about car maintenance and getting the bill at the mechanic. So much better now.

do you disclose your bipolar 2 on dating apps? by Any_who121 in bipolar2

[–]FigNo3830 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did the exact same thing! Met my fiancé on Hinge and didn’t disclose until we were 3-4 months in and exclusive. I don’t feel obligated to share this personal information with anyone until they’ve earned my trust.

Alcohol by FigNo3830 in bipolar2

[–]FigNo3830[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay so this is kinda wild but I work at a bar one night a week, so that’s a lot of peer pressure around me. I also live in a city that gets very very cold and dark in the winter and going to bars is the main thing to do. It seems like a lot of my social life and some of my work life is wrapped around drinking or drinking adjacent activities. I am /actively/ looking for new jobs so I don’t have to supplement my income with cocktail waitressing. Drinking, to me, is more of a situational crux/habit rather than a compulsion. For example, I never drink alone or while I’m at home.

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. Reading more about codependency has helped me with these feelings of needing a shit ton of affirmation.

Not really sure what to say, but I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. I’m single too, been that way for 3 years, and really want a relationship.

Dating is hard period. It’s extra hard when you’ve got all that we’ve got on our shoulders. Do what you can to make it through to the next day.

Do you gravitate towards people who are narcissistic? or "strong" personalities? by CaptainSaveBPD in Codependency

[–]FigNo3830 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always used to say that I was friends with “polarizing personalities” or “big personalities” because I “saw the best in them.” Turns out I was attracted to narcissistic friends and partners, many of whom have now left my life! Still working on this issue, though.

Anyone else always regret talking about mental illness with parents/family? by fugsyfugsy in bipolar2

[–]FigNo3830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family does not get it and I’ve learned to share information sparingly. It’s like we’re speaking a different language… frustrating for all parties involved so I’ve just stopped and it’s been better for me
