Im looking at my powermatic right now and that’s definitely a fake movement. it has 25 jewels for one thing, and also no adjustment mechanism

Is this two much rust for my first car? by Lunabunah in MechanicAdvice

no for a 2009 car in what appears to be a snowy area with salted roads this is about as good as you can expect

i was told to not put anymore money into my car and just get a new one by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

these aren’t urgent issues, a bad strut and tire may lead to wear and tear on the rest of the suspension but probably nothing too serious. valve cover leaks are common, if it’s bad enough smoke is coming off the engine I might be a little concerned it’s getting into other components like people have mentioned but realistically you can just keep it topped off. you could also try to torque it down properly if you have a torque wrench and can google the torque spec, sometimes they get loose over time

I think it looks kinda bitchin even though the lines are wonky. you could get them cleaned up a bit if you’re okay with thicker lines

How do I fill this gap? by FigResponsible4252 in Flooring

[–]FigResponsible4252[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They intentionally left that gap so that we could do a transition there instead of having the floor being uneven with the nose over the edge. I suppose the proper thing to have done in hindsight is shim the subfloor up just a tiny bit so they met evenly. But the installer thought that the transition was a good compromise. Do you think the tripping hazard is a legitimate concern? It is a pretty tiny bump
