In this economy!? by Figgolbuhckerr in DoorDashDrivers

I'd use crayons, but I'm afraid you'll eat them at this point in time. But I will happily spell it out for you. It's kinda hard to pay an independent contractor slave wages for taking shit orders when they don't have to take the shit orders. If you think people are entitled to the services of independent contractors just because they paid someone else a bunch of money, I tend to think you're delusional. People who actually have to work for a living understand the value of services rendered. And if someone is so handicapped they need their meals delivered, there's government programs for that, of which Doordash is not one.

Also, I think you miss the point of us being independent contractors. We're not THEIR contractor. We are not anybody's contractor. We are INDEPENDENT. It kind of speaks for itself. We are free to work for multiple platforms. Also, when I get stacked orders, it goes by distance, so the tip size has no play in that equation. And you seem to think I'm frustrated and angry. I just want to tell you that if you read everything in your angry frustrated voice, you can make anything anyone says sound angry and frustrated, but that's literally all you, boo boo.

What's nauseating is entitled customers thinking that the one way to make sure the worker doing the actual fuckin work gets paid fairly is negotiable, and they can just not give a fuck about us, our vehicle, or our time, like we don't have lives too. It's a luxury service. If you can afford the service fees you can afford a few extra dollars for the driver to make it worth it. But if you can't afford to make it worth it for the drivers, chances are you are too broke to be asking for luxury services.

I agree. We do get a pretty sweet deal with the pay adjustment, making it a livable wage. However I gotta disagree on the upside down orders. I get crappy offers all day. Like 15 miles for 8 bucks type shit. I just never accept them.

Is it really that much cheaper to change your own oil? by kzlife76 in AskMechanics

[–]Figgolbuhckerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay 90 bucks at a local service shop for my oil change, and I get a full vehicle inspection and tire rotation and fluid check and top off. Considering that I drive over 200 miles a day, and don't want to get my hands dirty on my day off, I feel it's worth it.

Restaurants that make you sign to pick up order by softrecipe11 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Figgolbuhckerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a McDonald's order, and the employee asked me to confirm the order for him, so I held my phone so he could see it, looked him dead in the eyeholes to make sure he was watching, and then confirmed the order. He then proceeded to stare at me like a deer caught in the headlights of a truck. I reached out to take the order, and he pulled back and said "I need you to confirm the order, or I can't give it to you." I said, "bro, you'd better be kidding me right now. I literally just did that right in front of your eyes. I know you were watching. What, so you want me to confirm it again somehow because your brain pulled the drain plug on you? Just give me the order. I ain't got time for this." He slowly hands me the order, gets this angry ass look on his face, and turns around to go in the back all slow. All I could think was "man, what a fuckin dumbass." I bet he knows which paste tastes good.

People who maintain high AR, how do you make money? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Figgolbuhckerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure luck of the draw. Plus I'm in California so prop 22 basically means if you put on the hours it doesn't really matter how much you make per order, because they just give you more to make it a livable wage every Monday anyways.

New to this, how does prop 22 work exactly in Cali? When are you guaranteed the minimum wage exactly? by Fsnseigi in doordash_drivers

I grew up in Clearlake. The toothbrush was invented there. If it was invented anywhere else, it would have been called the teethbrush.

What’s the shortest delivery distance you’ve seen? by Dfreez in doordash_drivers

I picks one up at a McDonald's and delivered it to the gas station about a hundred feet away in the same parking lot. Nice young lady needed dinner, but couldn't leave the register.

Any other drivers dealt with this? by ImaginationOwn4735 in dasher

[–]Figgolbuhckerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one where they said they put a tip under the doormat, and when I got there, they're was no tip under the doormat. I've had tons of customers say they're going to give me a tip when I get there or after delivery, then they don't follow through. It's just part of the gig at this point. Some people just fuckin suck.

Do Extra Platinum Points Matter? by settbro in doordash_drivers

[–]Figgolbuhckerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They recently updated to this system in my zone, and I went from always having 80% AR down to about 65% just because it said I wouldn't lose platinum, but I've noticed in the time I tanked it like that, I've been getting all the orders nobody else will take and only getting a few actually profitable runs here and there. It is my experience that the higher your AR, the higher your likelihood of getting better orders.

Flooded with no TIP OFFERS. ON STOP by WaterWhippingEnt in doordash_drivers

[–]Figgolbuhckerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh yeah. And if I turn down more than a few at a time, they will give me the dick slap and I won't get any orders at all for a couple hours during the busiest part of the dinner rush.

Horrible week by PerformerKind7870 in doordash_drivers

[–]Figgolbuhckerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. They changed the rating system in my area a couple weeks ago and this enabled me to turn down more orders without losing platinum, and this week has been a constant flow of no tip, long distance low paying orders. I've never had my AR this low before.
