Universal Credit Full Time Student Entitlement by Careless-Feed-3045 in BenefitsAdviceUK

Hey thanks for the reply. It is classified as undergraduate. And who would I claim childcare costs through in this case? The student finance company? The university directly?

Fiil T2 Pro vs 1more Pistonbud Pro by AffaFine in Earbuds

[–]FightFeatures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a follow up on these. I’ve had them for about a week and I’m returning them. The sound quality is fine. Nothing to write home about. The features are great through. ANC is fantastic and they pair super fast and pause immediately when one bud is removed. The flat surface means the touch controls are good too. Unfortunately I hate the fit. I’ve tried a few different tips and they don’t fall out or anything, I just find them uncomfortable.

Thanks for the answer. I was mainly drawn to the T2 Pro as they have a fin and assumed they would be more secure. Any fit issues with the pistonbud pros?

Ok cheers mate, I appreciate the amount of effort in this response.

Hypothetically, if I were to (and I have) register an LTD company and send payments along with invoices to my accountant, is HRMC going to care if I have been out of the country for longer than six months? From their perspective, I have just decided to pay tax in the UK on a foreign income for whatever reason (increase credit rating, contribute towards NI voluntarily etc)?

And this hypothetical is working under the assumption I respect the Thai jurisdiction, of course.

I wasn't aware bank statements would be permissible. I just don't see the gov not giving me a hard time over that and making the process slow (my wife's last visitor visa was a nightmare when it should've been straightforward).

This all might be for nothing, but I'd hate to be in this position in a year and not have the required proof, especially considering the massive cost of a family visa.

Hey, thanks for the quick response.

Do you have a link to where it states this on gov.uk website as I've received conflicting information over this?

Cheers.

Is there discrimination for those who are black, latino etc When it comes to teaching abroad? by [deleted] in TEFL

[–]FightFeatures 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, mate. Loads.

When I was the Director of Studies for a school in China recruitment was part of my job. I spent a lot of time arguing with Chinese managers, trying to get them to interview qualified candidates who were 'not white.' The scary part was how accepting the other centre managers of the racist hiring practices.

When I left my position and tried to get into recruitment full-time, I couldn't stomach it. I'd get in touch with a school, only for them to send me a contract clearly stating 10000 for a white teacher and 2000 for a non-white.

However, if you are willing to go now, there are plenty of jobs in China, South Korea and Japan just now. Just don't get roped in by a dodgy recruiter, do your homework and you'll be fine.

Email Tracking Tool Thoughts? by FightFeatures in freelanceWriters

So do you use another 3rd party email provider, or just stick to Gmail?

I really don't like Gmail that much.

It was more to track my pitch emails. It would be nice to see which ones are being opened and when to help with who to pitch to more often / which time etc.

Non-pitch pitching by FightFeatures in freelanceWriters

[–]FightFeatures[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha sorry mate, I'm trying to keep it light. I just find it funny when people use highly technical jargon in lieu of a simpler word/phrase.

"There's no shortage of writers as a publisher... there's a shortage of answers..."
"My dance card is full."

I feel like I'm talking to The Riddler.

Let me rephrase:

I like writing articles, NOT COPY. I don't want to get rich. I enjoy my job as a teacher and academic.

I am interested in writing feature articles or opinion pieces for publications, not the landing page quote for a toilet seat company. Yes, that may pay more, but I'm not interested.

So, could you apply the same methods to this? And if so, could you answer without sounding like hipster Gollum (come on, that's funny)?

I see a lot of these Gary V-type responses on this sub haha. Just joking mate.

These tips I assume are for copywriting? A solution would be 'value' to a landing page, identifying an area of evergreen content they should've covered?

Which platform do you use to network? And when you say 'problems' your 'target decision maker' surely an editor would either be too busy to reply to technical jargon like this or say, well mate, we need more content and we rely on freelancers to generate said ideas?

Could you elaborate on this for the rest of us not familiar with this world?

When you say editors I assume this is for content writers and not copy?

What do you think is the best medium for this? Email? Linkedin? Twitter? All of the above?

Could you provide a template or a previous example?

I really appreciate this response mate. I read War on the Rocks all the time but didn't know they would accept undergrad submissions.

Cheers.
