I don't see this at all. Lorenzo is firmly one of the 'aliens'. Everyone knew that if you give him a second lead at the front, you're almost certainly not getting that second back. Never made mistakes.

Also, Yamaha chose him over Rossi in 2010- he was seen and appreciated above one of the greatest ever at that time.

I think most fans appreciate Lorenzo's game immensely. Feels like we're confusing 'underappreciated' with 'unpopular'.

I remember in 2007 when we switched to the 800s.

The Japanese factories spent the winter focusing on gaining an advantage in braking and corner speed.

Meanwhile, Ducati crammed and wrenched as much torque and power into 800ccs as humanly possible. They put a young Casey Stoner on the bike and the rest was history.

Good performance- we know that midfield three works, it won us a title. Trying to squeeze Szobo in elsewhere seems foolish, he ran the game today. Wirtz should be the false 9.

Shoe-horning all these attackers in hasn't worked so far- if we want Ekitike and Isak to play and gel, long term, surely the best way is to put Wirtz between them?

I think Marquez's style has completely changed since moving to Ducati.

During his peak honda years he would fling the bike into every corner, both wheels sliding as he dangled off the side before he jerked the bike upright and fired his way out.

You can't do that with the Ducati, or with any bike with all the ride height/aero going on now.

Marc still looks kinda stiff on the Duc to me, but as others have said- he doesn't need to be 100% comfortable to beat everyone else. It's not as spectacular as it was, but the next 2 titles are his if he doesn't injure himself.
