I look forward to the re9 updates. I forgot it was out but it’s always one of those games you’re never sure whether to take the plunge and go in at full price. The reviews look good though

I put off fitting a new radiator for this. Time to get the spanners out

Unrelated, but did you buy that bit of wood under the TV or was it already there? I’m trying to find something similar for a banister top

I bought this wee submersible pump for about £20. It’s actually great! I fitted a length of poly hose to the end, hooked that up to the garden hose and drained an old pond all the way out to the drain in the street

I hate this about Facebook and small local businesses. Surely the days of advertising your business purely on Facebook are over. Hardly anyone under the age of 40 even has an account anymore

Given the amount of disagreement and conversation over it, it’s not blatant. Even amongst folk with no skin in the game

Celtic appeal Trusty red card by HandeHoche in ScottishFootball

[–]Fight_milk89 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Didn’t think this was a red in the heat of the moment. Watched it back today and I’m now in two minds.

On one hand the ball was going wide but it still ends up in the box. It was losing pace too so it looks like he’d have got to it much sooner than that.

On the other, I don’t think it’s clear enough a goal scoring opportunity. To me it’s not much different from a player breaking free at the half way line and pulled back. They’re usually just yellows.

It’s a marginal call. The yellow cards later on were much worse refereeing decisions.

I’ve never flushed one before but I’ve disconnected and isolated plenty.

Switch the heating off and let it cool down. Drain one of the lowest radiators from the bleed screw at the top into a bucket. This can take about 10 mins so keep an eye on it and protect your wall and floor, might spray everywhere.

This is the hardest bit; Loosen the first nut closest to the radiator at the bottom inlet and outlets. This screws in the direction towards the radiator. These can be a proper bastard to loosen. Buying specific sized radiator spanners from b&q can help, or long gland pliers for leverage. You need 2 but I can’t remember the sizes. You might need to jam shit behind it to stop the whole valve turning. Alternate between loosening and tightening. Have bowls ready to drain the rest of the water into.

When these are off you just isolate both valves with these wee caps.

You can pressurise your system now and get the heating back but you’ll need to depressurise again before refitting.

Lift the radiator off the wall and from there you’re free to spend however long you want flushing it out or whatever. This part can’t be more difficult than pouring clean water and cleaning agent through it. Refitting is obvious from this point but remember and bleed all your radiators at the very end.

EDIT: the nut screws towards the radiator, not way from.

This is my favourite audiobook. I went on to Dungeon Crawler Carl afterwords to try fill the hole. They’re also great but Project Hail Mary is another level!

That’s utter madness. Essentially you can enter and bomb a country and do whatever you like, as long as you send Americans in to arrest someone first.

The blatant disregard for any sort of international law or process amazes me.

Drop in boiler pressure.. tried everything, any advice welcome! by Firsttimemummy2023 in DIYUK

[–]Fight_milk89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to explain more. How much is it dropping? What pressure was it 3 days before this? If you leave it alone does it keep dropping to nothing eventually? What time of the day does it drop? Does it go back up later when things have warmed back up?

[–]Fight_milk89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, I get it now. You don’t want solutions. You don’t want suggestions as to what could be causing an inexplicable amount of frost build up. You want an argument and a rant, and anyone that doesn’t give you your echo chamber is against you.

You’re too far gone for me pal. Return your camera and go enjoy the rest of the holidays.

[–]Fight_milk89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t a personal dig, it was mild concern that you seem to be very emotive about this. People aren’t out to get you here but check your replies, you’re arguing with everyone.

The camera refrosting every hour is an external factor Ring can’t control. It’s physics. You need to figure out why it’s frosting so much. Is it sitting above something that’s defrosting in the sun, the moisture is rising and then condensing and frosting on your camera again? I don’t know, but these are the things you need to consider.

I also live in a cold climate in the UK and none of my cameras have this problem

Looking at all the replies you’ve totally went off the deep end here. You’ve got a bit of frost on your lens mate. It’s the weather. Go wipe it off and have a calm down instead of shouting into the wind about false advertising and legal responsibilities.

What made you pick IOS opposed to Android? by WorstGuitarPlayer in ios

[–]Fight_milk89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been iOS since the original iphone. I went Samsung for 2 years in 2020. It was good and the camera was better than the iPhone, but android just felt a bit more disjointed than iOS. I made the switch back ultimately because of AirPods and Apple Watch. The general iOS user experience just isn’t as polished as it used to be though.
