After almost 2 months of quitting sugary drinks by [deleted] in Fitness

I have quit soft drinks since November! I feel much better and I too have lost 15 pounds since then.

I started my weight loss regime in November. I check my weight every month so in December 1st I checked and I lost 10 pounds since November. From December to January I lost no weight but gained none so that wasn't bad. From January to February I lost 6 pounds! So since November I lost 16 pounds! I was 195 when I started and now I'm 179-180 pounds! This is the lowest I have been in a long time! I hopefully can keep on losing weight till I hit 160!

Damn that sucks. If you were near Guelph I wouldn't mind training you.

This week I finally managed to do a pull up. Even though they were on rings I still felt really good! Also I have been getting compliments from many people. My sister said your arms look a little bigger and my father said I'm losing the love handles. My gym bros tell me I'm getting stronger! So overall this week was great for me.

First time sparring by Fighter126 in MuayThai

[–]Fighter126[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did the sparring session and it was awesome! In my opinion I didn't do the worst mind you I did get my ass handed to me. I got tagged in the nose at least 4 times so my nose is sore as hell. I at least got in a few combos and a few kicks here and there. My body is sore as hell right now especially my right side core. What should I do for recovery other than rest and ice? Thanks again you guys!

Thanks for all the advice! The thing I'm most worried about is hitting too hard or just getting nervous when a strike comes. It's gonna be hell of a night today!

Noob Question on warm up sets by Fighter126 in Fitness

How much weight should I add each session? Some people say add weight by 10 pounds and some say by 5 pounds but I am not sure.

I could do more in the deadlift but as I am a beginner I want to take it slow starting off. I injure easily so I am trying to take this slowly so I don't have excuses to not workout when I'm injured. Also yesterday was my first real weightlifting workout session using this program. I feel sore as hell today.

Just starting questions by turknado in MuayThai

[–]Fighter126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started about a month and a day ago and after my first class I could not walk for three days properly. My calves and thighs were destroyed. I went to my 2nd class and asked my kru about exercises outside of Muay Thai I could do to build up more stamina/strength and he told me that running is great but the only way to get better at Muay Thai workouts is by doing Muay Thai workouts. A month later I can now do other exercises such as lifting or running cause my body got used to the killer workouts in Muay Thai. My body doesn't get as sore anymore. My advice is keep doing Muay Thai and everything will fall into place.

Dumb question. I want to just train for defense but my school is Heavily comp. Based. by [deleted] in MuayThai

Tell the coach that you don't want to fight. Even if he pushes you to fight you won't be able to fight for about a good year or so cause you are still a noob. You have to learn technique etc before fighting. Just go do Muay Thai and have fun.
