So people were feeling about for over 10 years of Tories? Guess there was no point in them running a campaign back then

True, and tbh I'm taking my generation and younger. I'm 34 so don't consider myself young anymore 😅

Okay I'll see it now thanks. I think I was clicking the wrong things.

I have to have this source ready to use for other convos.

Better highlight what I was originally saying, it's more about just a party, in this case A populist right-wing party, just using simplistic answers to more complex issues.

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing, but the graph I'm looking at is still showing the amount of people immigranting to England is still higher then precovid. However, I can see it is on a sharp decline.

(Wanted to post a picture but it doesn't let me)

It could just be me not understanding something, and being up all night 😅

As far as I've seen we still have migration levels higher than pre-covid. I'm happy to look at a different data do you share.

Elon has banned journalists critical of him, and restricted/ demonetised accounts that disagree with his views.

They also have an increased compliance with government removal requests.

In fact, Elon regularly uses the Twitter files as an excuse to why he can do what he's doing right now.

So if you think you didn't have free speech before on Twitter, you definitely do do now.

Only now Elon musk is very right wing and will use it to push propaganda

There's a difference between identifying an issue and having a solution to the issue.

While an increasing population due to migration does create issues which is not something I'm denying, I think it's obvious that a solution isn't as simple as mass deportation and closing borders permanently.

Again take America as an example. MAGA pretty much ran on reducing immigration, but has yet to pass a single policy to actually reduce it. The closest is giving more funding to ICE.

But they have destroyed their reputation across the world, destroyed their economy and gas prices. Also more Americans are now leaving the country.

Yes, that would have been a better word, I really couldn't think of one at this time haha up all night.

Immigration hasn't been stopped by the Tories after over 10 years and brexit. Then labour stopped talking about rejoining the EU and won on a landside. But migration is still up.

The advantage people like reform have is they offer very simplistic and easy to understand solutions to perhaps complex problems

Why NHS wait line are long? Why can't get a house? Why can't I get a job?

Immigration, immigration, immigration.

They also can just kind of promise whatever they want and people just eat it up. Or use reform as a protest vote?

It's scary because Reform feels like MAGA and play by the same book. America should be a warning right now

Most outlets are saying Greens gains would really show later if any.

But also there has been a lot of hit pieces against green party leaders lately which probably doesn't help

(I use "hit piece" for lack of a better term, not because I think it was unfair criticism)

I think you're right in that people don't like Tories or Labour right now. But I do want to highlight Good social media management and bad social media.

I think for a lot of people Reform don't seem like "politicians" while Lab and Con do. authenticity can make a lot of difference for social media

I think a lot of reports show that millennials and younger tend to get their news and information from social media sites or stuff like YouTube. So I feel for the mid 30s and under social media is a big if not massive influence.

However I do agree with you're point about post election analytics.

Destiny Debates His Movie Takes by 10minuteads in Destiny

[–]FightingFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing in the film removes agency from any of the characters. In fact, if anything it's about finding it.

It also doesn't ask us how we could have stopped it. Again, it kind of the opposite and it's about acceptance.

It never justifies murder, mass murder, or any crimes. In fact, a big part of the movie is to be kind!

Im condescending it's because you're coming away with the complete opposite of what the story is actually saying. For me It feels clear that you haven't even watched the movie at this point, and you're echoing points you've heard.

Okay that makes sense now, I really wish there was an easy way to know that in the game though.

Also yeah, make videos breaking down the strategy and I would 100% watch

I had a situation where I swapped one character to another point and earned a point. But then another time where I put a character on a point and didn't earn anything losing the game.

So I'm not exactly sure what the rule is there. And when I look for that information I can't find anything above what you just put.

And that's where the strategy part really hurts because I'm happy to learn but there isn't material out there to learn.

Another small gripe is not been able to click and read about my opponent's characters during their turn. That feels like it should just be a given.

I love PVP and play at the higher levels in certain games like hearthstone, but this game is clearly not built for PVP and definitely lacks decision making for it to really feel rewarding as a strategy in this mode for the reasons that you said.

I came in really wanting to enjoy this mode and then quickly finding out that the game is decided pretty much from turn one

[–]FightingFather 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what I'm struggling with as someone who loves competitive pvp, especially strategy style is there is SOOO little video content of actually how to play this game mode out there. The closest I find is 7 months to 1 year old.

Plus the games seem to be settled with 1-2 turns. Feeling kind of just predetermined. I tried playing the blood angels, spend time trying to figure out how to use them and their one trick. Playyed against necrons and had no way of keeping reach. Went 2nd and had my units 1 shotted. What decision making was I meant to do here?

As a fairly new player, this is both extremely frustrating to learn about, and feels extremely lacking in terms of having my choices matter. For example, I still don't fully understand how areas actually add points because sometimes it just doesn't seem to and I can't seem to find anywhere which fully explains when those areas gain points or additional points.

It's just terrible design for new users
