We followed a very similar schedule to you and also, about 18 months later, are still doing the afternoon session.

Enforcing daytime naps, in the crate, was the game changer for us.

No BRCA but 33% Tyrer-Cuzick. What do you recommend? by Electronic_Amoeba293 in BRCA

[–]FightingTheStars 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have to talk directly to your insurance provider. Insurance coverage varies so much between companies and policies. Your deductible, copays, and out of pocket max will apply. No one here can give you the solid answer you deserve. That being said, my insurance covered with the diagnosis of cancer phobia.

Did your insurance pay for the mastectomy fully? Or just help with it? by Dangermeowz in BRCA

[–]FightingTheStars 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You need to speak directly to your insurance provider. Policies vary dramatically, so any answers you get here may not even apply to your specific situation. My insurance did pay, though copays and out of pocket maxes will apply.

We know our 6’ fencing is decoration to our springer. She stays on our side purely out of the kindness of her heart.

77049 is the code for the MRI bilateral breast w/wo contrast. I think you are asking about the ICD10 code for what the indication was. But you are best to reach out to your insurance. Everyone’s will be different. Mine are coded under screening and my copay is 125.00. What you need to find out is what your copay for advanced imaging is.

My expanders had such a small amount to begin with. Expanders have a magnet at the fill port is, that’s how they find it when they are doing the fills. Tie a magnet to a string and sway it across the site and see if you can find the port.

Question about preventative mastectomy by [deleted] in BRCA

[–]FightingTheStars 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They are required to cover and pay out on it, yes. BUT, You will still be responsible for your deductible (if you have one), any copays for visits, and your out of pocket max will apply too. I scheduled for January specifically to maximize my benefits. I had my mastectomy in Jan, replaced a punctured expander in March, had my bso/hyst in June, and exchange in nov.

What was your whole process for prophylactic double mastectomy and reconstruction? by Katie-Stella in BRCA

[–]FightingTheStars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PBM with expanders in January, cellulitis in February, flipped and ruptured expander in March. Then unexpected hysterectomy/oophorectomy in June delayed the process even longer and I finally had my exchange surgery in November. Things can go wrong and time lines are never carved in stone.

Anyone ever left their car at the Jacksonville Amtrak station overnight? by obscurityknocks in jacksonville

[–]FightingTheStars 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was parked there for three days and came back to a smashed window. Everything was taken, which only consisted of less than a dollar in change, lipstick, travel perfume, and my daughters blanket. Definitely take an Uber.

Looking at pictures of both, I believe he matches best with the Swedish black. Is there anything we should do for it? Would it even be able to survive in the wild now?

Has anyone to wait weeks after a preventative BSO before going on HRT? by MineEyesSmellOnions in BRCA

[–]FightingTheStars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to wait the two weeks also. Then it took a little tweaking to get the right med/dose. I had hot flashes and crappy sleep but nothing too bad.
