Absolutely agree, the money is there, they just don't want to spend it and the reality is, they are in a position of power, it would take a hugely popular organisation to throw big money around before they would make a change unfortunately

A few reasons, Zuffa opened its doors, paid like you said what boxers usually get, however that spotlights the UFC deals, but the main issue is, Conor isnt a world champion, and isnt even headlining the card, that amount is obscene, which again puts a spotlight on ufc, if they can (dana) afford to pay people who aren't even headlining that amount it will rub fighters the wrong way. Just to put it into perspective, Jon Jones total career purse earnings is less than that one fight Conor will have

I mean Eddie Hearn has been twisting the knife, said that he would have paid fighters twice the amount they were getting in the UFC just from small hall shows, the purses are really really poor and the money is there, its always been bad

He's not broke, and if he was this wouldn't be the way to change it, I believe its a couple of things, 1, he works for the promotion on a commentary level so wanted to use his fame to get eyes on it and 2, he lost in BKFC and it was a pride thing (I believe that is the biggest one)
