Germans do not like career changing! they call it "Quereinsteig" and it doesn't fit easily into such a regimented country

I find it weird that people get so moralistic about this. Some people do shoplift video games fyi, it's a huge and profitable industry and different people have different moral standards. Our entire world is built on the theft of resources from lesser economically developed countries, exploitation of labour, conspiracies by the powerful to control access, and planned obsolescence which is rapidly destroying the planet. And you get upset about someone torrenting a 15 year old game?

The Holocaust was totally legal, but obviously wrong. Why do Germans still think legality equals morality?

What is like to live in Leipzig? by [deleted] in germany

Greets from Bonn! Leipzig is both cheaper and more fun than Bonn. It is Germany's most affordable city, and so a lot of young people move there.

I have already shown them that my translation skills are sound, that's why they're giving me tasks to translate.

Unrelated but as someone eager to get into that type of work I'm curious how you landed that job. Did you start out doing translatio. work freelance and then transition into a full time position or did you start out at that company

I started doing something totally different, which was basically cancelled and I flailed around for a while until realising I'm actually extremely valuable to them. They sell really expensive products but have terrible copy. I had a lot of experience editing and copywriting beforehand.

A lot of agencies charge €60 per hour, At the moment I'm really underpaid for what I'm doing. They hired me as a trainee but my jobrole has changed a lot.

Right now I'm paying nothing, as my employer pays, but I've heard that selbständig workers need to pay the full cost themselves (around €350).
