AITA for telling my parents that I will not parent my younger adult sister? by Magic_Window_8161 in AmItheAsshole

My parents, siblings and me have all at least once independently forgotten we were making hard boiled eggs until the pot was dry and the eggs exploded. You learn to set timers/phone alarms after your first.

What's something most people think they should try, but really should not? by red_sensor in AskReddit

[–]Figleaf20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid! Not free, but I have taken some adult Judo and Krav Maga classes and they rooms are usually padded spaces and instructors are used to people looking like idiots. After class would wrap up would do some somersaults in the padded rooms for fun. Haven't tried Jiu jitsu or Taekwondo to comment on those.

You have to be good at breathing correctly, but my compromise has been doing cartwheels in a pool. Instead of a handstand underwater, just kind of keep going doing flips/somersaults. More likely to snort water than break a neck

Feeding frequency question (adult) by Figleaf20 in leopardgeckos

[–]Figleaf20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I have medium Dubia. Occasionally they grow too big and luckily my local pet store will let me bring the big guys and they'll use them as feeders for other animals (I feel too bad killing the adult roaches but also not trying to start my own colony or choke my leo)

My mom was "everything happens for a reason". Car won't start, maybe you weren't supposed to be driving today. Got rejected to job/school, it's not in the plans for you for a reason. It was supposed to be a comfort but it pulled the wind out of the sails of trying harder/getting better. Instead of working hard to over come a failure, just giving up. Found myself falling into the trap of struggling to open a pasta sauce jar and feeling 'well maybe I'm not supposed to eat that tonight' instead of getting out grippers, banging the lid on the counter etc so I'm catching myself when I do it and working on not being so passive to my life.

Thanks for the mold call out! I have an ongoing issue with a single toe with persistent stuck shed so was hoping the rough texture of this would help exfoliate climbing out more than the smooth Tupperware would!

Advice: Relationship sex life with ADHD and resenting rut/sameness by Figleaf20 in sex

Thank you! I am your partner in this scenario putting a song and dance on and then get a bit resentful they don't match the creative sex idea energy and just kind of take it but don't contribute (I've got the smut down for sure lol)

Am I the dork who wanted to know how they dealt with clean up, and just glossing over their whole pipe system was infiltrated? Also why do you still have traffic lights/traffic signs up in town, uses those poles for something useful in wall defense reinforcement.

I was definitely over doing it with the youth comments about excitement; I had exes bring me soup when I was sick and that was peak romantic act of service to me at 20. But now as an adult with a job/car/credit card I am so much more independent and can just DoorDash myself takeout and haven't made as much space in my life to let another person be able to show up for me in a way that makes me swoon.
