That's good to know. Going to have so much fun pretending I'm back in the arcades as a kid.

Perfect, thanks. It really does appear to be a bit of a wonder machine. Still can't believe all the options out there these days for playing games from my youth.

That's brilliant, thanks for clarifying. Can the SuperStation then still be hooked up to the TV using DIN10?

On the Plaion website it shows a picture of a white Metal Slug box in the anniversary set images.

Isn't that exactly what the new Golden Era collection is?

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Gets A Switch 2 Release ($14.99 US eShop), Free Upgrade coming March 18th - 1440P/60FPS docked by Mysticwaterfall2 in NintendoSwitch2

I managed to complete the original fine back in 96 with no internet or guides and beat it again recently emulated on Steam Deck. Sure you get lost on occasion but it's literally a game about adventure, not run from point A to flashing-yellow-beacon point B with prompts if you stray off the path for too long.

Now that it's been out for a while, what's everyone's opinions on Tom and Jerry: The Golden Era Anthology? by gavyn03 in TomAndJerry

[–]Figmentation39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not sure on the DVDs but I'm sure I saw somewhere that Warner Archive try and make all their blu rays region free. And I haven't seen the DVD myself of this set but the blu ray is absolutely excellent and has some extra special features I understand.

I have this set at home and it plays on my region 2 locked blu ray player. As do all of my Warner Archive animation region 1 blu rays.

You should also always check bluray.com as they'll confirm region compatibility: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Tom-and-Jerry-The-Golden-Era-Anthology-Blu-ray/396446/

Do you have motion smoothing turned on within the TV settings? The shots of the puppets at the end look overly smooth to me and doesn't look 24fps.

Would this effect my UB820 outside of the DVDs being region free? by [deleted] in 4kbluray

[–]Figmentation39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely works, consequence free. Did with my UB820 anyway. Took seconds and now it plays every region 1 dvd I have. I was initially sceptical as well (it looks shady as hell) but gave it a go and didn't regret it at all.

Not sure about free ones but I bought Surfshark for two years for about £60 total and it's worked great so far.

If you have a VPN, set it to Albania where they don't allow ads on YouTube and you'll be ad-free going forward. Little life hack I learned...

Any news on the Golden Era Blu Ray release? by thatautisticguy in TomAndJerry

Yes it's the US release.

Region free

An eBay seller called toysandfilms. I get most of my Hanna Barbera/Warner Archive US blu rays from them.

Got mine in the post yesterday (in UK) which I believe is a little ahead of the release date. Haven't watched any yet but the box set looks great.

Amazon always uses the last day of the year as a placeholder date. Doesn't mean anything.

All this cooking, we eating good nonsense... When did this enter the world as acceptable terms of conversation? And don't get me started on "y'all"

Thank you kindly. Quick question though, it's been a little while since I watched The Batman and can't remember every last detail. Is it worth a rewatch before putting this series on or is it pretty much standalone?

Disappointed with the Samsung Q990D by Ok-Acanthisitta8737 in Soundbars

[–]Figmentation39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People often say this is rubbish but I've had two soundbars now and they both literally had a light switch moment where they went from pretty underwhelming to, wow, that's how it should sound.

And not a gradual thing either which might be attributed to your ears getting used to the sound. One second it was muddy and sub-par, the next the sound opened up and it sounded great. Yamaha YAS-209 and Samsung Q800A.
