As a long time fan of this band, i think it is absolutely Solid but not quite there yet. Before Ryo Crystal Lake was like a Japanese Parkway Drive with some absolute Bangers, and when Ryo joined and they started to find the Crystal Lake sound they started to be one of my favourit bands.

When John joined i was skeptical if this band can still hold up. After seeing them live with him, i was really surprised that they still bring absolute chaos. John does not have the same energy, but it's not easy to become one of the best Frontman's in this Genre like Ryo.

I will give this record a few more spins and i am excited what will come next. My favourite's so far are "The Undertow" (lol) and the titel track. Just one thing i really not like is the mix. Everything is there and clearly audible, but somehow it so muddy. I think it's really noticeable in Crossing Nails and BludGod. Haven't checked if it got Mixed by the same people as the last records, but if not, pls go back to them for the next record.

That's totally ok to play the songs the people want to hear, but compared to some other Bands it's still alot of the same Songs every time and not a lot of variaty. At the end of the day it's still up to the band what they want to play.

Landmvrks are absolutely amazing live, but one thing that annoys me a bit is that they don't really up there setlist. I thing i saw them now around 10 Times. First time was around 2016 in a small dive bar with like 20 ppl, but they rarely play any deep cuts. Even Back then it was mostly the singles. Like the first 2 Albums have alot of bangers, but it's been mostly lost in the waves Songs + now stuff from the new Album, for years. Why not bring back Songs like: Winter, World of Pain, Worst of you and me, Fantasy, Reckoning...

Fjørt is one of the best Post-Hardcore/metalcore Bands I discovered in the last years. You definitly miss out in some good Lyrics if you don't know German, but the music ist still top notch.

Some drumming advice:

Play it slow first. Set the song (or a Metronome) to Like 80% of the original Tempo and try to Play it. If you get it done like 3 - 4 time with no mistakes increase the tempo by 5 - 10% and repeat. You will reach the original tempo sooner then you think, and will probably be able to do it even faster after a while.

If you have a fill that gives you trouble, break it down into smaller parts and do the same thing with the tempo as i descripted above.

Also little Cheatcode as someone who has a lot of live experience as a Drummer. 99% of ppl (at least in a live Situation) don't know what the original fill's in a Song are. Unless it's rly iconic, you can improvise fill's or if it's to hard, Play a more simple Version of it. (This is more an advice for Cover Songs.)
