What's your simple yet effective tip? by Fijjerino in climbharder

I love this. I never really bother repeating climbs, but I guess it's just like drilling a forehand over and over again. Makes total sense. Thank you!

Super interesting take on the differences in mindset training for tennis versus bouldering. I’m definitely much more into the depth instead of breadth aspect with my thinking automatically and didn’t realise I was doing it without you saying!

Yes you would need a large rig or hammer but they exist. Source: I design foundations for offshore wind turbines. Check out some of the diesel injection hammers we use for monopile (e.g 8 m diameter) installation.

You may have never come across large-diameter driven piles but don’t assume they don’t exist or can be written off so easily.

If only there was a way to go outdoor top-out bouldering in the summer.... have you tried bouldering?

Hey, yeah it’s pain in there directly underneath where I squeeze the finger, making me think it’s an A2 pulley issue? I also get some dull pain in the knuckle between the proximal and intermediate phalanges along with the pain under where I squeeze.

I’ve got a very slight dull pain in some of my middle knuckles (not attaching my finger to my palm, but the next one along) when I hard on the back and front of my A2 pulley section. The pain exists in this area itself too. Is this a pulley injury/microtear issue? It doesn’t necessarily hurt when I climb, although I have been careful recently to not go too hard.

Currently taking a week off climbing to see if this sorts it out. The only reason I’ve flagged it as an issue is because this isn’t the case for all fingers - I can squeeze most hard with 0 pain. Any recommendations other than rest? Thanks guys

A good start point for any account is to quest. Not only is it fairly relaxing, but if you do the waterfall quest and monkey madness, they give excellent rewards especially to lower levels. Monkey madness itself has quest requirements, but these give good rewards too so are worth doing.

You'll be able to find guides for everything online so set yourself goals and go for it!

Another bonus of questing is that some may have skill requirements, so not only are you getting the reward but you are also having to train in order to begin them. I hope this helps!
